While functional and handy, the plastic that this cupholder is made of feels super brittle. It’s marked “PC”, which I assume means “polycarbonate,” but I don’t know. Like, it folds up and works fine, but trying to adjust the cup holder arms is awful. Sounds and feels like they’re going to snap off. Loosening the screws didn’t help either; it’s just part of the design.The included mounting screws are fine, but the adhesive tape is weird. It’s plenty strong adhesive, but the back of the cupholder is not flat, so it’s just kinda holding on to these little raised ribs in the plastic. Maybe you’re supposed to use both screws and tape at the same time?Oh well. It’s a classic cupholder design that I’m pretty sure has been around since the 80s, so you can’t really go wrong. Just wish it were made of a more durable plastic.

Arm hinges were a molding mistake, they creak and almost snap off when adjusting. Not worth it even if they are cheap.

I got this to use on our fishing boat and like that it comes with the options (and hardware) to either mount it by using screws or double sided foam mounting tape. We chose the latter to avoid putting more holes in the boat, and we have a convenient spot where it can be mounted with the tape. I got this style of cup holder because it can fold up and out of the way when not in use, however, by it's nature it isn't the most robust - I'm actually replacing a very similar one which accidentally was bumped into and broken. This also won't keep your drink entirely secure over bumps and rough riding, but for most uses it would be fine.

Convenient low-profile fold-away drink holder that was very easy to install in my classic VW bus passenger door. The "claws" of it ratchet smaller or larger with a bit of force and can accommodate different sized bottles or cups. The plastic is definitely not the strongest material so don't step on it or anything but if it's used as intended I think it can work for years to come. Nice addition to my classic daily driver.

I installed this on my workbench. It folds up and out of the way when not in use, and fits standard cans and beer bottles.

I grew up in the 80s with this style of cup holder on our boats. In the end, you just keep coming back to it anytime you want a fold up cup holder to mount somewhere. Side of a camping cooler? on a boat? garage? Quality is what you expect, it's plastic and cheap, but it works and is easily replaceable without drilling new holes since they are so common.
