Q: I was sent one of these, I am not sure which vendor supplied it, but it had no instructions. Dee , do you have a diagram or instructions that came?

Put a strong snap swivel on the ring. That is going to be for your rod end. Attach a leader on the rear hole with 30lb mono or floor. At a Clark spoon on the end of the leader. I recommend 30lb line on the rod you use. I use penn 650 spinning reels with ugly stick tiger spinning rods. Troll 2knots for striped bass, 4knt for blues and 5 knots for Spanish and 6 to 7 for Atlantic bingo. I use a 5ft to 6ft short leader on mine for the spoon. The instructions recommend a 20ft. Cast it in or just drop over side with open bail and let go 15 to 20 ft behind the boat engage reel and drop tip and snitch up for a quick set and put in rod holder. Turn left to right to insure gimbal catches. When fish bites it comes up or tip bounces. Strong fish may not come up but take off like the Hugh mahi that took off on mine. Mono is better than braid. Better for entanglements.

Q: How can I determine depths of my Clarkspoons using these planers in sizes 0-3?

I noticed while trolling for rockfish the 3's were hitting bottom at 30ft. So I would think 2 for 20ft and 3 for 30ft. I was going around 4 mph also

This is a vertical planer (i.e., straight down) versus a board planer which have port or starboard biases. So this product is designed to replace trolling weights/downriggers.
