No, this come with a USB-C to USB-C cable, and the little adapter to the older USB-B 2.0 end

Yeah, it is powered via USB. Tests show no difference between inputs. The only difference in speed occurs when used with certain interfaces. For instance, when plugged into a 2.0 it transfers slower.

Q: Macbook pro time machine compatible?

Yes, that is what I use mine for and it works fine.

Q: can i use this external drive to store and play my xbox one x ganes?

I don’t know for sure is xbox comes with an usb-c port. The drive comes with a usb 3 converter , so it’ll still work with Xbox, but believe i wont be able to reach full data transfer speed as you would with the native usb-c interface.
