I haven't used the pads, yet, but next time my back is sore, I'm going to use them.I noted that the batteries seem to last through a number of sessions. Each session is about 20 minutes. My husband and I both use this every night. I get restless leg from some medicine i take that makes it hard for me to sleep. When I use this I don't have restless leg and have a much better night's sleep. My husband tends to get leg cramps at night, and this helps with that tremendously. It's also great when your legs are tired from walking or swollen from sitting. We've had some of the less expensive ones, and they break after a couple of weeks. It definitely was worth investing in this one. We've had it for several months now and it's, it's still going great. It has 15 levels and 6 modes and it gets very strong which is great. I love how compact it is and the remote is a plus. The battery lasts a long time too.
