2 Movie Collection: Brother Bear / Brother Bear 2 [DVD]

As a box set these two films are great. Between the films and numerous extras this should keep the family entertained for a whole long wet weekend. The story is inspired by Innuit culture and legend, the setting brings the stunning landscape and glorious Northern Lights of Alaska and the Canadian Northwest to the screen. Kenai's story as he grows up and learns to adapt is at the centre of the film, the little bear Koda who befriends him is adorable and the two deadpan moose steal every scene they're in. Film one is an absolute treat. More fun than the film itself is the irreverent commentary track featuring the two moose. Classic. Also lovely the soundtrack including several Phil Collins songs. Although you probably have to be my generation (basically a grandparent) to get excited over that.The second film isn't quite on the same level. Yes, it's part two of the coming of age story - fniding a mate - but the romance of the bear with the beautiful maiden didn't really cut it for me and little Koda was a bit too precocious for my taste. Then again, the two hilarious moose get more screen time in the sequel. Much more. And they are as entertaining as ever. Or more so. Priceless. No commentary track for this film, this time the smarta** remarks of the moose are incorporated in the story in the form of dialogue. Sort of. Anyway, it works very well and for me they are the real stars of film two and make it worth watching.Both DVDs have subtitles for those who need or want them. I bought this as Brother Bear was a favourite film when my sons were growing up.

Fab films, really enjoyed both, played lovely, great pictures had no problems with both dvd, all great. The bond of species and story of seeing the other side and point of view and the adventureNext adventure and another change and growth of love and coming together

The DVDs were beautifully packaged and arrived an immaculate condition.The sound quality is excellent. Visuals are great.It was wonderful being able to watch the old Disney classics.

Bought this for my 3 year old granddaughter and she absolutely loves it. She keeps playing it over and over again. I thought the beginning of the film was a bit deep for a little one to understand but it doesn't seem to bother her.Thank you Amazon

We originally had the Brother Bear film on VHS - my son still loves it so I decided to get it on dvd for him for Christmas - lovely bonus to now be able to get a 2nd film with it. Well priced, great service - arrived in good time.

my brother bear dvd movies @2 series wont play.

It wouldn’t even work. It said it had a wrong code, and would just spit the disc back out. I had bought this for a Christmas Eve movie for our four kids. They were so up set that it didn’t work. It was very frustrating as a parent. So I didn’t noticed it wasn’t even from our country. That was my fault. So my advise. Make sure to read the fine details before buying DVD’s.

This would not work in my DVD player due to it being the wrong region. I have never heard of this before. The company should be more careful before shipping. Very disappointed with this.

Did not work on my DVD player. Sent it to my brother, who is a tech know-it-all and he tried to convert it to a new disc that would work. No luck. Really feel ripped off. Not used to Amazon selling false advertising.Will be more careful in the future.
