Excellent size for many tasks.
I really like this knife, it is a pleasure to use. It's very well made and looks good, I like the long narrow blade. It's a very useful intermediate size knife, good for lots of tasks. I mainly use it for cutting for cutting vegetables. Recommend.

A great multi-purpose chef's knife.
This is a really nice, well balanced, multi-purpose checks knife that initially may feel a little strange, but once you get used to it, this style of knife will soon become a favourite. The blade edge and depth of blade make this feel to me almost like a cross between a knife and a shallow cleaver. There's little 'roll' to the blade when using it - it's there, but not too pronounced. It has a lot of the benefits of a cleaver too - the wider blade can help lift food and crush things like garlic cloves more easily. The blade is very sharp indeed, the indentations on the blade effectively help things not stick to the blade when cutting - which is a great feature. The handle is comfortable. The full tang makes it sturdy and well balanced; the bolster is pronounced - making it feel pretty safe in the hand. This is the kind of knife that I'd choose, if I only could have one knife that would do everything. It's also a really good price and feels like it'll last for many years to come.

Very high quality, nicely balanced and sharp versatile knife
The media could not be loaded. The Kitory MTD06 8 inch chef knife comes in a beautiful presentation box and would make an ideal gift. Sliding off the paper sleeve and opening the box reveals a hard foam lining that prevents the knife moving during storage. There are a couple of plastic guards on the corners of the blade as well as a foam pad in the lid to ensure safe transport and a small packet of silica gel to help reduce moisture. The knife has a high carbon stainless steel blade and weighs 178g. The handle is extremely comfortable in the hand and has inset smooth black wooden inlays - the finish is high quality and feels nicely balanced with plenty of distance between thumb and blade. The stainless steel continues through the handle and extends to the end plate, thus protecting the softer handle materials. The blade is extremely sharp and it goes without saying you have to take considerable care using and cleaning this knife. However that sharp blade means it cuts safely through vegetables with ease, requiring only the slighest pressure. I haven't had chance to try it on meat yet but I would confidently say this knife would an excellent all rounder in the kitchen.Without doubt this is the sharpest chef knife I have used and the quality of workmanship and materials are very high. Very impressed and I look forward to exploring more of the Kitory range.

Top knife, comfortable and very sharp
The media could not be loaded. ●This top knife is really good quality and very comfortable to hold, lightweight, aprox 200g. Has a good overall balance when cutting. I don't feel like I have a hammer in my hands.●Im not a chef but I like playing with the idea and with this knife it is possible, feels like a pro. Cuts very sharp and straight. Need to be very careful when using it as can cut the skin easily.●The blade is made of carbon steel, corrosion resistance, this means that with low maintenance can last for ages and not to forget, is sharpened on both sides. There isn’t anything it shouldn’t cut with, but working with I noticed that it’s best for meat, as I can cut thin slices a lot better than I do with a ordinary knife.●It’s simple to clean and wash it, better if avoided by very hot water and dried immediately after washing.Highly recommend.

Makes Cutting and Chopping Effortless
Well made and nice looking, the knife is an instant hit with me! The blade is slim, but rigid. The handle feels very ergonmic and comfortable while in use. I don't have a huge amount of experience with metal chef blades, but I do have a good set of ceramic blades and this is comparable in sharpness straight out of the box. Cutting and chopping are fairly effortless. I’m very happy with the quality and looking forward to years of usage. Recommended.

Very good ergonmic design and usability; reasonably durable cutting edge
The design of this paring knife demonstrates very good ergonomics that facilitates great usability. The size (which falls between a booking knife & a paring knife) has a handle that feels very comfortable while handling, and makes rapid manueuvers flow very fluidly, like peeling an apple or deboning chicken or fish. The carbon stainless steel is reasonably durable; although given the price range, I wasn't surprised that I do have to sharpen it quite frequently to maintain a highly usable cutting edge.

Not perfect but I really like using this knife
Other than the rivets protruding from the handle slightly, I think this is an excellent knife. It arrives very sharp and does a great job on everything I’ve used it for. This includes raw meat, produce and cheese.I have smaller hands and this is comfortable for me to hold and I like that the knife has a bit of weight to it but it also feels balanced.I’ve honed it once so far and that worked out well. I haven’t had the need to truly sharpen it yet but I don’t have any worries about that not going well. This knife isn’t perfect but for the price it’s excellent and I really enjoy using it.

Excellent feel and maneuverability
If you have read my other posts then you know my feelings. Life is too short to use low quality, dull and poorly designed knives. I put knives in 4 categories: 1. Junk, low quality, cheap construction and materials 2. good fit, finish, quality and good edge 3. Very good quality, really good balance, design, feel and finish but beauty may be in the eye of the beholder because of individual preferences 4. Premier, when anyone picks up this knife the first thing they say is this is a really really nice knife. So this brings me to the Kitory utility knife. This is my 2nd Kitory knife which I thought the first one was a great knife. This one is no different. It is well designed and balanced and the quality is very good. This knife has excellent fit and finish and has a nice edge. This knife fits well in the upper level category 3. I would like to get a couple more Kitory knives to round out the collection.
