Buyer Beware of Acer Recertified!!!
BEWARE OF ACER RECERTIFIED!!!!!While the price of this product is a great deal until you discover something is wrong with it. The monitor worked great for a couple weeks then started experiencing severe pixel flashing over the entire right side. So I started the RMA process and discovered that I have to pay the shipping costs to have it repaired. I figured no big deal until I found out how much it is to ship a 27” monitor in the box it came in. So what was initially a great deal turned into essentially paying full retail price for a re-certified product. If I had paid full price and bought new I would have a longer warranty and wouldn’t have to pay extra to have a defective product repaired.I guess I missed the small print somewhere. I called Acer Recertified back to explain to them the high cost to send their defective product back and in the hopes I could just take it to an authorized repair center, instead I just got a sarcastic employee who told me that they only have one service center in the entire country. They also sarcastically explained that, “well if you bought from Best Buy they would require you to bring it back to them.” I guess he missed the my point and doesn’t realize that retail stores don’t charge you $100 to repair products under warranty. I can’t remember ever buying anything on Amazon where I incurred additional cost to have something under warranty repaired or replaced.DO NOT BUY ACER RE-CERTIFIED, that is unless you are willing to take a gamble that it may go bad even while it’s still under warranty.I know this monitor has great reviews and I have to say that it is an awesome monitor, that is when it is working. I guess if a company makes something cost prohibitive to return, it will never get sent back. And unfortunately most people just don’t bother writing reviews. At this point I don’t know if I am just better off living with half the screen flashing. Can’t tell you how disappointed I am with Acer as I generally have had a good experience with their products. I can tell you I will never spend a single penny on another Acer product ever.Update (July 13, 2019):So I bit the bullet and paid for the return shipping to have the monitor repaired, giving Acer a chance. Of course after paying for the shipping to return their defective product for repair I have essentially paid the price of a new monitor. After about two weeks waiting for my monitor I got it back on July 12, 2019. During that time I tried several times to check the progress of the repair through the Acer site but my monitor never showed so I had to email Acer for updates. To Acer's credit they did replay fairly quickly. At the first opportunity I had, I unpacked the monitor to hook it up and found the repair paperwork which claimed they replaced the LCD. So I plugged the monitor in and it appeared repaired for about 30 seconds, then it immediately began the screen flashing again as if it was never repaired. In fact, the monitor flashes completely black and takes several minutes before it will actually show. When it does finally come on the screen flashing now appears worse than before.I am really questioning was this thing ever repaired. I mean whats to stop them from just sending it back without doing anything knowing most people will not want to pony up the additional shipping costs to send it back to them to get repaired a second time. I attempted to email Acer Recertified immediately upon discovering that the monitor was not working and my emails got kicked back with the message that the Service@acerrecertified does not exist. Of course they are only open during business hours Monday Thru Friday so calling wasn't an option. I really don't know what to do at this point because if they require me to pay the shipping costs to send it back for a second repair I will have paid more than the cost of a brand new monitor. This is a hard way to learn, so I am hoping I can keep at least one person from having to go through this. Right now I am so angry I am actually considering small claims court but I have little hope for that process.I am going to attempt to appeal this to Amazon because any time I have dealt with Amazon customer service for issues they have been excellent. Again, I hope people are reading these reviews because, like I said before, if I can prevent one other person from going through this it will be worth the time spent writing these up. I have never had such a bad customer service experience in my life, this is horrible. I know in the grand scheme of things I'm not out a life damaging amount of money but I think it's fair to expect to at least get what you pay for.

good monitor, shotty packaging, & minor issues but still a great deal
Overall, great purchase for the price. I was disappointed with how it was packaged, as the only protective measure were some inflated pads, but the monitor itself was not damaged. Had a heavy box been placed on top of this one, I’m sure the monitor would have been heavily damaged. There were also a few finger smudges on the screen and a noticeable amount of dust upon opening, however there really isn’t much ground to complain for a 27” 144hz monitor at this price point. Also, there are no instructions included to put the stand together, but it only took me 2 minutes of fiddling to figure out. Wouldn’t be a bad idea to include some, though. All in all, this is a fantastic deal. Take advantage before they boost the price.——I wrote the above shortly after setting up the monitor but wanted to wait to post it until I could confirm the refurb had no issues. Well, I did come across 2 things. The first issue is a stuck pixel near the top of the screen. It’s not too big a deal personally since it will always reset with a quick rub, but for some this is a deal breaker. The other issue which set on recently is about a fifth of the screen, at the very top and stretching from edge to to edge, will flicker black and start displaying properly a few seconds after. This happens randomly and has always fixed itself.Despite those two issues I am very happy with this purchase. Just make sure to test the monitor out for a few weeks to make sure you do not run into any more serious display issues.

durable
This device is quite durable. I accidentally shot it with an airsoft gun and it only had a small crack. Screen is broke a bit but very little issues.

Bad Carrier and delivery. Great budget monitor
The monitor works fine and all, but when I went to pick it up the box was already torn open and it barely had any protection. Three cables were thrown in there , a DP cable, power cable, and e-sata to USB cable. all very short. The carrier was Fed Ex. On my account page and phone app the product was supposed to come on Sep 7th. Even said out for delivery, but it didn't and came early Sep 8th. I guess it got here is what counts. I don't think I will be buying refurbished or any product that isn't directly coming from an Amazon center again. It was through sheer luck that it came undamaged. Maybe I should order it again and roll the dice. The monitor is cheap enough to buy a second. 144hz is nice for this price.Another Note : There's some type of crosshatching/ screen door effect on far away objects during movement in games. Best to keep your face at least 2.5 feet from the monitor so you don't notice it. Update on the screen dooring effect. I think in Nvidia control panel you can set the Negative LOD Bias to clamp and it will make it better but it will still be there. There is definitely rendering issues for low end cards.Colors are definitely washed, but can be fixed with Nvidia control panel coloring or basic panel tweaking. TN panel only gets 8bit colors. Coming from a 60hz monitor to this definitely changed gaming for me though the next time I buy a monitor it wont be a renewed product or 1080p at 27inch. That's just at the very edge of the boundary to where you need a higher resolution. Cheaper VA or IPS panels with better response times are coming. TN panels will be a thing of the past.I have also read other reviews for this monitor about the viewing angles. The viewing angles for left and right side is great for multiple viewers watching a video and the colors stay the same. Text starts to get blurry or unreadable if you are way above or below the screen though.
