The Violin Collection
There are three books in the THE VIOLIN COLLECTION collection ( EASY TO INTERMEDIATE VIOLIN/PIANO, INTERMEDIATE VIOLIN/PIANO, and INTERMEDIATE TO ADVANCED VIOLIN. Each book has an excellent collection of music, CD with full performance track and accompaniment track. Each book is also divided into the accompaniment sheet music alone with a pull out which contains only the violin sheet music.

Piano part only!
It must be my mistake but where in the book says it is for piano accompaniment only? I assumed the book contains violin part. No, this one only has piano parts. And when you go to the Website that the book mentions, it gives audio access that we may or may not need but it still does not give the violin parts. Other than Previn and John Williams pieces, everything is already no longer copyright protected. It is not that we cannot find the pieces from somewhere else as most of them are no longer copyright protected. I needed the book so that I can get a clean violin copy for wedding prelude or something and did not want to go with simplified versions. It is such a letdown.

Good piano backup tracks
This is the best thing I've found so far for a piano accompaniment track while I learn these pieces.I'm not giving it five stars because there are a few issues. It's not obvious how to get in to the software to slow down the tracks. A lot of people would probably give up and think they've not been given the correct software because a message keeps coming up saying you have to buy something further. But if you're persistent and poke around, it is possible to slow down all the tracks, not just the first two. Some of the pieces have very clear type setting, and some don't. It looks like they copy and pasted from other publications, so there's inconsistency. Also the markings of positions in the violin part are not always there, so sometimes you'll have to stop and figure out the best fingering. In other words, these may not be the best edited versions of these pieces. I suspect some of the slurring and other markings are also not the best. However, I've found these pieces useful to have a back up piano track that can go my speed. It's helpful for working on intonation to have something to play along with. If you can play up to speed (or near to it) then you can also play along with the violin/piano tracks for this purpose. However, if slowing down the violin track has the unfortunate effect of slowing down the vibrato. If you're playing along to improve your own intonation, this going to make matters worse. Half the time the note will be above pitch and half the time below. It's just about never ON pitch. Given that they are selling these with the intention of slowing down the tracks, they might have wanted to do something to deal with that vibrato. (This is a problem with the flute version of these CDs as well)
