Great for every day use
I bought this with the intention of only using it for camping and hiking, but I'm finding more and more that it also gives me peace of mind when I encounter questionable water sources both in the city and rural areas. It works as promised and is easy to use. The water does not come out as fast as it would with a normal bottle because of the filter, but it's not slow enough to be a major annoyance. I also contacted the manufacturer to find out how to tell when the filter needs to be changed (I'm not the kind of person who will keep track of how many times I've filled a water bottle) and they explained to me that the water flow would greatly decrease and eventually no water would come out at all.

Great emergency tool!
Takes care of the 3 key contaminants (cysts, bacteria and viruses). Flexible plastic to help squeeze water into your mouth, so you dont have to suck your brains out trying to get it. I have mine inside the "Condor H2O Pouch Condor H2O Pouch (Multicam, 10 x 4Dia-Inch) and hooked to my MOLLE belt.This is very easy to use. It holds 2 3/4 cups water WITH the filter in. This is how to use. DO NOT TIP IT. Hold it upright like a glass of water with a straw. Bend your head down and suck. You dont even have to squeeze the bottle. You can get almost all the water except maybe a teaspoon due to fact filter almost touches bottom but not quite. Its a bit slower then the standard water bottle, but this is for nasty water full of bacteria, cysts and viruses. Its for emergencies. I have used this on numerous camping trips filling from creeks and streams. Remember to wipe outside and nozzle before drinking so "bad" water is not internally taken accidentally.

I use this all the time when I go hiking. You can drink from just about any water source. Powerful iodine based filter destroy most known contaminants. Great for emergencies or even everyday use.

Squishy bottle equals tiny leaks.
I just got this bottle. I guess either I didn't understand the product or its not clear that the bottle is squishy. Its not a hard bottle. Not what I expected. Bottles that can be squeezed often leak and this one is no exception. Even with a dry tight lid when applying a bit of pressure this bottle dribbles a bit of water. Its not unuseable its just non-optimal for my uses. It also takes a fair amount of force applied to get liquid through the filter and up the straw. Not unexpected but more than I would want in an everyday carry item.
