Better build quality than Karcher
A lot of reviewers compare Bosch to Karcher window vacs, and this is no exception. This replaces a Karcher WV5, which, IMHO, is a piece of junk, having literally fell apart after 18 months. A comparison with the Karcher is probably not a bad thing. Build quality: better than Karcher, both the large and small wiper sections clip on and release positively from the body of the unit (it was the large blade assembly on the Karcher which literally fell apart in use). The Bosch rubber squeegee element is soft rubber, supported by a stronger combed plastic section. I think that design makes it more efficient than the Karcher, which with its harder rubber blade used to make a noise like fingernails scratching a blackboard when going over nearly dry glass. Personally, I have never been able to get totally streak free glass after using a window vac, and have found that a follow up buffing with a microfibre cloth is required to remove residual streak marks. The Bosch rubber blade leaves fewer streak marks than the Karcher. Edge suction: I've had no issues with it sucking right to the edge of the glass. Handling: ergonomically, I have to put the Karcher slightly ahead. The Bosch body is bit "dumpy" and not as well balanced as the Karcher, but if you haven't used the Karcher previously, it would not be an issue as it feels easy enough in the hand. Tank capacity: I've read reviews in which the tank volume has been an issue. It has not been an issue for me as I am cleaning the windows of an average size house and have only had to empty the tank twice during a whole house clean. Might be a problem if you're doing a block of flats. Emptying the tank: The reservoir section is easy to empty and to clean. On the Karcher, to empty the reservoir completely, it had to be disassembled from the body of the unit, a right faff. Battery life: As per the last paragraph, the battery lasted throughout a whole session and still had capacity to spare. Accessories: comes supplied with cleaning bottle with pads attachment, no cleaning agent included. Again, to be fair, the Karcher equivalent is better, as I found the Bosch bottle spray nozzle tends to dribble a bit regardless of the spray setting, but that is a minor niggle. I like the wrist strap attachment: useful if you've to use it for awkward windows which need accessing outside panes from inside the room. In conclusion I like the Bosch as it is well constructed, reasonably ergonomic and easy to use, not very heavy and has a decent battery life. The price seems reasonable, £56 at time of purchase. This review is based on initial impressions in Sept '20 . If it fails or falls apart, I'll edit the review.

Ideal for Campervan - 12v Rechargable
Having a campervan means you have to learn to deal with condensation on your windows when you get up in the morning. It's annoying to any neighbours if you sit there running your van whilst you try to demist. Having a window vac, speeds up the demist process and means you won't annoy your neighbours - win win. Our campervan is all 12v, no inverter and we don't usually go to places with hook up. Previously we have had the other well known brand of window vac. As that one is only rechargable via mains, we have had to be very quick with using the vac and praying it would last out until we did get to somewhere with 240v. All our worries are now gone, as this window vac is happy to recharge via a 12v usb port! Having the different sized heads is good, I prefer the smaller to the bigger, to get into the smaller areas. I do empty it after every use. As the container is not removable, you can't break the attachment lugs on the top (yep I did that with the other make). Suction is great, it is a bit noisier than the other make. But I'm not using it for hours, just a few minutes. I have used it in the house for clearing the shower cubicle and the bathroom window of condensation and it is spot on. Haven't used the spray bottle and attachment. All in all a good value window vac.

Good battery life and smear-free cleaning of glass
We have several Karcher equivalents and one needed replacing and decided to try an alternative brand. We have other appliances from Bosch and we generally purchase their windscreen wiper blades, so we were familiar with their ability to clean glass well. This has proved to be the case with the Glass Vac, as it definitely leaves less smears then the Karcher blades. The battery life appears to be very solid and so far on the first charge the unit has cleaned eight large bifold door panels inside and out plus twenty window panes as well as several grandson fingerprint splurges in between using the window cleaning tool supplied. It certainly is a capable machine although there are two drawbacks - the dirty water water reservoir is small and if using it to clean down a shower screen you will likely need to empty it before you’ve finished, but cleaning the slight volume of cleaning liquid used on windows is fine. Also, the handle shape has its ups-and-downs;- the short distance between the blade and the bottom of the unit makes it possible to get closer to the edges of window reveals than a Karcher, however, it’s open design and slightly heavier construction makes holding it more tiring. Overall we are very pleased with it and decided to dedicate it to the window cleaning task while the Karcher’s are doing the showers. I would buy this unit again as it appears to be more sturdily constructed than a Karcher and the release mechanism for the blade is far better, with easy release and simple cleaning procedure for the parts.

Lightweight and effective
Brilliant piece of kit. Arrived yesterday and used it this morning on two huge patio doors. Easy, lightweight and very effective. Why didn’t I get one sooner! I have also used it outside and the difference on the windows is remarkable. Well done Bosch.

Brilliant for Georgian window panes
Have to say what a game changer this is. I have small Georgian windows and to clean them inside is painful. I have contemplated purchasing a window vac for some time but could never find one with a small enough head that would fit the panes. I am so pleased with this purchase. This is amazing and fits beautifully for small windows and comes with a larger head for large patio doors. I have 16 panes per window and this makes the job so much easier.

Better than Kärcher for now! Happy with it.
I am a window vac addict, I just love them and I have always used the Kärcher one. I honestly got a bit peeved, because they don’t last long, my record is my last one, just over 2 1/2 years, with use every day, sometimes twice a day for cleaning/ drying walk in large shower and cleaning windows, inside and out. I thought this time I would try something new and after some research, I decided on this one. I have only used it a few times but I do say, it seems better than the Kärcher. It sucks up better, leaves NO streaks, people saying it streaks, if you read the instructions it will tell you that you are applying too much pressure or too little, just get to know it and it literally is streak free. It’s more chunky than the Kärcher and seems to hold a lot more in its water container. I like the feel of it and the ergonomics of it. Because I have had so many over the years I can give you tips on how to make these things last longer. * Empty the water container frequently, don’t let it get full at all, just keep stopping and emptying it, this stops the water backing up on itself and going into the motor, that is what will kill these things. * Also try to keep it upright, I know this one says you can go in any direction and you can and it’s great while doing so but ONLY IF YOU HAVE EMPTIED THAT WATER OUT OF IT FIRST. * Don’t let the battery get completely empty before charging. * Don’t keep charging it until the battery is full every time, charge it after you have used it 3-4times * Don’t rest the blades on anything that can ruin the rubber on them, I stand it upright with the stopper left open, so it can dry out fully between uses. Also if you register this product on Bosch website you will get a 3 year warranty on it. So far, I love it better than Kärcher but I will update with how long this one lasts and if Bosch honours the warranty if it goes before the 3 years are up?

Works well but leaves some streaks
Cleans windows quickly and is easy to use, but it does leave a few streaks. Still, I’m happy with it and it saves a lot of time.
