Philips AC4014 36-Watt Air Purifier (White)

Well I was a bit skeptical of the need for an air purifier. But given the regular cycle of cough and runny nose especially during months of heavy pollution in Delhi I wanted to give this a try. In my room after opening the outside door the filter shows red i.e. bad air and only after about an hour or even more it turns purple and then blue indicating clean air. Now to truly corroborate this indication you probably need a separate air quality sensor but I can tell you I can feel the air is a lot cleaner, when you go outside and come in the room it feels the same way as when you feel on a mountain when it has just rained, clean, I am not joking, it really feels like that. One simple test you can do to see the efficacy is to hold your phone with flashlight on at an angle of 90 degrees to your eyes and you can clearly see the amount of particles in the air - do this test in your room to see how bad is it. I could see a clear difference in my room where filter is on and in the kitchen with no filter.I am not bothered by the sound even at full speed much less than ac noise but it is dead silent at low speed. But to clean a large room like mine of size 14x12 you do need to run it at top speed coz shifting it to another part of room shows you unclean air sometimes. Thankfully the cable is quite long.There are three sets of filters - HEPA, Carbon and pre-filter. I just wiped all three clean and I can tell you I was so shocked with the contents - thick carbon soot that is like boot polish and won't go off from the sink. This is what the filter saved from going in my lungs. So the value is very clear.The air purifier will become a necessity just like water purifier became in 90s.

Good. Noiseless at speed level 2. Ok at 3.I have used it non stop for 2-3 days - no issues.The cleanliness level is indicated only by red, purple and blue led - i would have preferred a digital reading.I keep small portion of window open at night, and use it at level 2. It keeps in blue range most of the time- it may be also because hyderabad in general is not that polluted.Do i notice effects of cleaner air - i dont know. May be over longer term. I would say even if it makes air cleaner in my room by 10% , it can only be beneficial to my family's health. Overall a good buy.

The purifier works but the active carbon filter sucks all the moisture from the air, rendering it impossible to breathe. I saw positive reviews of the product from Singapore, where air is more humid, but here in Delhi it is almost unusable. Returning it.

I had much expectations from this product but within 2 months, the filters started giving out a foul smell and the Air purifer turned into a "AIR-TOXICATOR". The customer service person who visited me told me that it is a known issue. A replacement HEPA filter is Rs.3,600 and a Activated Carbon FIlter is Rs.3,600. I was told that the filters are not covered under warranty and so, if I want to continue to use my brand new air purifier, then I will have to shell out the money. These filters are supposed to work for 3 years, but mine didn't last two months. i was only using it in my bedroom for a few hours every night.Now I have to shell out Rs.7,200 within two months of buying this product for Rs. 23,000/- . I have decided against replacing the filters as there is no gurantee on how long the new filters would last. So, currently my brand new Rs. 23,000 worth Air Purifier is sitting in my store room, gathering dust and waiting to be sold off to the local kabadiwala.

Excellent purifier.Has a good range and good sensor for air quality..Definitely worth the price for a good healthy air if you are living in a polluted area.Removes dust,microbes, & few gases from air.

Product IS good but found no difference. Time will tell the difference when the smog is back

Super quiet, sleek and does the job. Nice purchase. Just wish it had a "stay on" button that kept it going after a power outage!
