So far, so good. its quiet with minimal ticking noise. Its effective so far with no mice seen, The construction is durable although its made of plastic (like everything else). the color is black and the lighting on the top is minimal but i don't appreciate the strobe light so i just don't use that option. Not sure how it's supposed to catch insects but I got it to keep mice from entering the home. Catches insects, not sure where the insect bodies would be stored?

It works. Whatever squirrel, chipmunk, rat or mouse was digging around inside of ceiling went away within a day of putting it up there. Whenever it re-appears I plug it back in and the animal vanishes. Slightly audible though.

Situation? Squirrels in the top floor crawl space. Verdict? Given my relatively low expectations, on the basis of squirrels being quite a bit larger than mice, this worked decently in reducing the overall number of the critters that for a hot minute threatened to turn the sealed space into a flop house. But, from the start, I assumed that while the device might prove unbearable to some others would not find it so uncomfortable, and so it proved to be. In short, this was not an end all to the problem; that involved closing the point of entry and egress just below the roof line. Sidenote: Customer service from the makers of this repeller is inexistent, like talking in a void. I had reached out hoping to ascertain whether the unit needed to be restarted after a power outage and, well, fuggetaboutit. For those with the same query, it looks like only the LED function is affected and needs to be started again; the other modes get back going when the power returns.

I just received my Repeller and was excited to try it out. I am disappointed to learn the sounds do not go through walls or ceilings. It was never mentioned in the description. We have red squirrels already in our ceilings. Now, I am not so sure if this will work but will give it a try. None of the many raving reviews mentioned this limited feature. One thing to keep in mind: for a larger home (mine is around 3,000 sq ft), you’ll likely need multiple units placed in different areas for better coverage. The price is a little on the higher side, but if it continues to perform this way, I feel it’s worth it, especially for controlling spiders. So far, I’m impressed and would recommend giving it a shot if you’re dealing with similar issues.
