4" Earth Anchor (4 Anchor Set) W/3/16" Cable Assembly "WITH DRIVE ROD"

I had trouble driving helical anchors into my hard clay soil. After researching I found these and tried them. They worked much better. I was able to relatively easily drive them into the ground with a sledge hammer in a matter of a 5 minutes. It was very hard to pull back on the cable though. I had to rig up a hydraulic jack to accomplish the task. That is the reason I gave it 4 stars for ease of use and ease of install. Might have more to do with my soil than these devices.Amazing how much better they worked for me than the helical anchors!

I used these to meet the town's wind requirements for new sheds. The shed manufacturer provided cheap stamped metal arrow shaped anchors that bent easily. These are solid metal with their own special drive rod. You can order just the anchors without the rod, but the drive rod is needed and works great. So order the more expensive version of the product to get the rod. The shed is on a thick compacted gravel foundation which I was able to drive the anchor through and then into rocky soil. Save time with these strong easy to drive ground anchors.

I installed 4 of these on my deck in about 1 hour using a 14” long (3 pound) sledge hammer. The installation rod was also easily removed.I used a 1/2” lag screw and a washer on each side of the cable which was then screwed into a 2x6 on each side of the platform deck.I would definitely buy again.

Awesome product if you are using in dirt/clay soil. NOT SAND. I'm very impressed with the ease of installation and pullout strength. I'm a retired civil engineer and hard to impress. I will buy again!!

Great product.Easy to drive into the ground in the mid-west.

Drive rod has no hole in it, so completely useless. Has to drill my own hole prior to using.This is a large chunk of steel to pound into the ground. Not easy. But does appear to hold well.
