Rainlax Compact Travel Umbrella Mini Foldable Rain Windproof Umbrellas

I have to update my original review, because I've now had the umbrella for a couple of months, and it's already starting to break. The metalwork is getting rusted, and I'm having trouble closing up the umbrella, plus a couple of the spines are buckling. Disappointing!Second edit: the umbrella totally fell apart during a big windy rainstorm. It turned inside out and then collapsed on me and would not re-open. I had to duck into a store to buy a new one, just to get home. I tossed the Rainlax one into a nearby garbage can--it did not seem repairable.original review: I'm always looking for a small umbrella that's light and easy to carry, but usually that means they're shoddily constructed, and prone to breakage. So far this one has been much better than I expected, especially for the price. For the size, it's quite sturdy, and I've used it several times with no problem. The wide choice of colors is great--I lost my last umbrella because it was black like everyone else's, and someone picked it up mistakenly and stuck me with their broken one. Hopefully I won't lose this one, but if I do, I'll probably buy the exact same one again.

Finally!!! A sturdy umbrella that didn't mess up the first time I had to use it. It can withstand wind and rain and the size is perfect to go in handbag so you have it when you need it. The price is right, the quality is excellent.

It's a decent umbrella for light rain. However, in heavier rain mine leaks from where the ribs touch the fabric of the umbrella. It also doesn't "catch" every time I try to open it and every once in a while it takes a couple tries to keep it open.Update: After some use the entire umbrella started to feel "loose" -- The handle would twist around pretty freely and the canopy would wobble almost constantly.

Almost too small to be useful. The umbrella is also not very sturdy. The Rainlax company model seems to be, sell a $1 umbrella for ~$10 and promise a lifetime replacement. I bought it for my trip to London where I used it twice. I had to keep shifting it in mild winds to prevent it from being inverted. A few days after using it the second time, I opened the umbrella and noticed a significant amount of rust on the "supports" on the underside of the umbrella.

As I really like orange stuff and needed a new umbrella, read the reviews and decided to buy two of these. So, I got one for the car and one for home. Then the rains came. On 2/9/17, first time used, BOTH umbrellas failed. One lost the ball bearing that held up the extended handle and one broke at the top and would not hold the ribs open. Went to the computer to return and noted that my maximum return date was 2/8/17! Don't waste your money.

Nice light umbrella. I wish the handle was a little longer to fit in the hand better. I was sent a damaged one, but I sent an email to the seller, and after I sent them a pic of the damaged part, they sent me a new one. I like the yellow, because it makes people smile and is visible so it keeps me safe from crazy rain drivers.

This umbrella is OK, but I wouldn't take it out when it's windy. The ribs are very wimpy. I had trouble recently on windy days keeping it from turning inside out.

Nice and compact and great visibility. A negative is that it's hard for my daughter to get it locked open. Requires quite a bit of effort to lock open.We'll keep it and use it but I'm going to look for another that's a little easier to handle.
