Great Razor
After a failed experience with an Edwin Jagger many years ago I was hesitant to get back into the DE shaving game. But the longer handle on this razor combined with its extra weight makes it a joy to use. I can’t see myself going back to expensive cartridge razors ever again.

Perfect
My husband absolutely loves this shaver. He has tried several and upon opening this he said the weight of it felt better, not cheaply made, the handle is longer and easier to hold onto while shaving, much easier to get the blade in and out, well made product!!!

Awesome shaver
The good old fashioned shaver. Have had this for several years and am very pleased. It is made well and gives an awesome shave.

Noob talking at you.
This is the first double edge safety razor I have ever used. I have tried electric razors and trimmers, plus the typical multi-blade razors of various sorts, and have been shaving as an adult for the lifetime of most college aged people. I know what I like, and what seems risky and too risky, at least for me. Now, I have tried a straight razor, but I can't seem to sharpen those well enough, and haven't had time to focus on that lately again. So, I bought one of these to try out, and perhaps begin working my way to a straight razor a slower way.I really do like this razor. I like the heft, it cuts quite well, it's easy to use. The only thing I would have, perhaps, liked, was if it had a butterfly opening to the blade. Due to ignorance, I assumed they all had that feature. Why do I want it, being ignorant for the most part? Ah, because my grandfather shaved with one of these and his opened that way. Yeah, strange, but. After having shaved with a straight razor, and not so well, I can say this is much safer. I have nicked myself, but only after I got a little too comfortable shaving, and then got in a hurry one day. I would recommend starting out slowly, taking your time, and learning the angles of your face and how to shave those correctly with this razor. First shave will get it closer than what you are used to shaving, most likely. A second and maybe third pass will get it very close. I haven't found perfection, only better or worse. And this, for me, even on a single pass, is better than I have known. Next I will be trying various other sorts of blades. "They" say there is a difference. I doubt much, but try on my own.I figure it will save me money, it is sort of neat to use this old tech, and I do believe it will help me learn the angles of my face so that the possibility of shaving with a straight razor might be more likely, and safe, if I can figure out sharpening to that fineness you really need. Good luck!

Great shave with titanium blades. Read review if you have hand issues.
I decided to try out the classic Merkur safety razor, hoping for a close, smooth shave. It definitely delivers on that front – the weight and balance make it easy to control, and with a titanium blade, it's incredibly sharp. However, there's one big caveat: the handle is pretty thin and the razor itself is heavy. If you have any issues with your hands, like carpal tunnel, this might not be the razor for you. It gets uncomfortable to hold after a while. If you don't have hand problems, I'd recommend giving it a try. Just be aware that it's not the most ergonomic design for everyone.

Razor worked great for a year
Razor worked great for a year. I love the weight and feel, pretty effortless to have a good shave. After about a year, the threads started to degrade on the handle so I'm now not able to fasten the razor down and making the razor no longer safe to use.

The best razor I have ever had!!
I have had several double edge razors in the past and none of them even come close to this one. I don't know if it is the material used or the angle of the blade, but this razor gives me the most comfortable shave I ever had. That includes the disposable i used to use. I would encourage everyone to use a double edge razor for financial savings along with environmental consciousness (no plastic razors sitting in a landfill). Spend the $$$ on this razor, buy some blades and you will see for yourself.
