The socks have a stronger elastic stitching at the arches that do provide more support than most other socks. The socks don't appear to be more breathable than other athletic socks, but they do feel soft. Still not sure I can say these socks are so incredible, they're worth paying almost $20 for 1 pair.If you're between sizes, go up in size, the socks do shrink after the first wash.
