Improved version
Before I buy a brand new game I usually look up reviews or how to play the game on YouTube. Now the reviewer that I found Had reviewed the products two months prior to when I got this in August. He explained the rules, and he explained that there were no rule sets for you to play the original game. And apparently the company decided to make this improved version that included rules for both games, as well as special Pac-Man rules.Like because it's a grid-based game, if the Ghost is on your row, And can see you unobstructed that ghost can move two spaces instead of one. He can close in faster like a shark.I like how the pieces look. They retain the cuteness of the original game characters. Considering that this is a wooden game, and an award-winning game, I like the value for the money.I tried to teach my father the original game. It took him some time to learn it but we both thought it was fun to play. The speed of the game was also good too.Board games are fun but I don't like it when they last too long. Like RISK can take multiple game nights. Sometimes Monopoly with multiple players can take awhile.

A big hit in our home!
I purchased this game at the behest of a blogger for use in teaching logic to her children. I saw the Pac Man version and decided my kiddos would probably enjoy the additional nod to pop culture. Boy, was I right! I had intended to save it until next school year, but once they caught a glimpse of the packaging, they insisted on playing it immediately. They absolutely LOVE this game and now pull it out about twice a week for several rounds. It is easy enough for my 6 year old and challenging enough for my 9 and 11 year olds. It is engaging, colorful, and thought provoking. I definitely recommend it.

Great Variation of Quoridor
You can play the original game, or the Pac-Man variant. All of the components are wood. It’s a great gift for Pac-Man fans or board gamers. It’s a great two-player game with some fun strategy that will keep you on your toes. Each player is given ten tiles to block their opponents path. The goal is to get your pawn to the other side of the board. Each turn p players either place a tile or move their pawn one space until one player reaches the opposite side of the board.

Very different game.
Totally different strategy from other games. Not as complex as chess. Kids can pickup quick.Adults tend to start thinking many moves ahead, and strategy can get a little complex! For 2-5 players, or 2-4 if playing classical non-pacman. Number of players changes strategy! It’s not a luck game for sure!

Nice Quoridor set
Well designed. The wooden figures are really nice with a few caveats. There are some small imperfections as one might expect from small wooden painted figures but nothing serious that detracts for enjoying it visually.Nice Medium sized board with some weight. The figures will tend to be on the smaller size are still big enough, but are very light and too easy to topple. For the most part the walls are nice. Some walls might lean a little when placed but not badly, and most walls are okay when placed. The plastic insert it comes with is nice for presentation but it can be annoying to pull and put back the figures, don't be afraid to dent the plastic behind the figures because there's not enough room for you fingers to pull the main figures. The Quoridor Pacman game variant feels like an afterthought. The rules are not 100% clear on what you can or can't do compared to the original game (specifically jumping & the mode with free wall placement are not clear) . Also it might be too easy to reach a stalemate and/or that one side has an advantage. Despite that, it's still somewhat fun to play at least a few times. You might want to research for alternative rules or make your own house rules to improve this variant. However I was aware of this variant weaknesses before purchasing and bought it mainly for the nice design for the regular Quoridor game with a Pacman theme.

Okay, but not amazing
Quoridor is still a great game. That alone would have gotten it a 4th star, except that there are no playing pieces just for Quoidor. You have to use a couple of the Pack man Ghost characters. The PacMan add on made the game seem special, but doesn't seem much like PacMan to me.
