A little beast of a train
The media could not be loaded. This train set was much much better than expected. My son has had plastic train sets before and often they are flimsy, lightweight plastic that doesn't last long. Happily, this set is different. Yes, theres a mix in the quality - the mini vehicles feel very cheap and lightweight - but the train tracks, train and toy police officer are sturdy and well made. The train takes 2 AAA batteries, but the battery housing isn't secure, its just clipped in (which is something to watch out of if playing with young ones). The train itself is the best thing about this set, and it is a goer. The train dominates the tracks when switched on, and is actually also a bit of a beast on my carpet and kitchen floor - even better yet, my son will follow it anywhere! The other accessories are nice additives, like the tunnel, the bridge and the passenger carriage - whose roof lifts up so you can put the toy police officer inside.Really good fun!

Compatible with wooden track
The media could not be loaded. We have a mix of wooden track from IKEA/Argos/bigjigs etc and love that the plastic track in this set fits perfectly and we can get more play out of it. The electric train is very fast! Not sure how as it looks identical to trains we have from different brands but is much faster. Only downside is the flimsy extras. The little construction vehicles and the bridge were all broken in less than 24 hours.

Absolutely uselss
Cant unscrew to put the batteries in as the quality of the screw is very very poor. Was a birthday present for my 4 year old and have a very disappointed birthday boy

Good options for layout and play
The media could not be loaded. This little train set is really cute and has a battery powered train coupled magnetically to a carriage and several manual cars and a helicopter. There is a station and stickers to go on the the trainset so your child can personalize it.Various track layouts are suggested in the leaflet or you can make uour own.I think for £23.99 at time of review it is an impressive little set that any child would love.

Very playable, decent battery-powered movement, some aspects of it a bit too cheap
From a grown-up point of view, the biggest problem with this set is how it’s packaged and presented. The messy box design full of too many fonts and oddly translated phrases like “Every style is funny and wonderful” single this box out as a cheap off-brand item where corners have clearly been cut in terms of quality. When you’ve already got a bunch of wooden track from other brands, then the plastic feels and looks a bit cheap, and the fact the tunnel is labelled “tunnel” is almost funny. But if you’re a toddler who loves playing with train sets, you probably won’t care about that. What you’ll see is a big box with a cool-looking futuristic train that you’ll want to start playing with a.s.a.p. And toddler playability is why I’m giving this set four stars. It’s easy enough for an older toddler to assemble or disassemble for themselves. The pieces slot together quite neatly without being too tight, and the ramps and bridge aren’t too complex. The accompanying signs aren’t too fragile and will withstand one or two accidental stamps or tantrums, up to a point. And the train itself has quite a lot of vroomability. One other reviewer has said that “you live it by manually pushing it” and “no batteries no automation”. I think perhaps they missed the instructions that are hidden on the bottom side of the box, showing you how to unscrew the casing of the engine and put batteries in. Batteries aren’t included, but it is definitely a battery-powered, motorised set. The power of the engine isn’t all that impressive, it’s not especially fast (certainly not deserving of the motion blur shown on the product box), but it does chug around the track fairly hope, and it can cope, just about, with the ramp over the bridge. Off the track it also does alright on completely flat hard floors, but the wheels are so thin that any attempt to get it to motor over carpet or anything else rugged is going to result in failure. Considering the price of the set though, having a motorised engine that works at all is still a bit of a plus point.I’m also pleased to report that it’s got the standard joins and sizes of other wooden track sets, like you’d find in supermarkets, ELC or famous Swedish furniture stores, so you can add this set into any existing super-network that your toddler may already have built, even if it already stretches out of the bedroom and across the landing. So if your toddler’s train obsession just grows and grows, then this isn’t a bad way to add some different-looking ‘city track’ to an existing set.For the current asking price of twenty-three quid, the value is OK rather than cheap, and as I’ve mentioned there are various things about it that do feel cheap. It still brought an excited smile though and has had plenty of play time so far, so in that way, it’s doing well.

easy to assemble
I recently got the Train Tracks Toy Set for my kids, and it's been a hit right from the start. This set has proven to be a fantastic way to keep my little ones engaged and entertained for hours on end.The set comes with a variety of tracks, curves, bridges, and accessories that allow for creative and imaginative play. Building different track layouts has become a fun challenge for my kids, and they love experimenting with different designs. The durability of the pieces is impressive. My kids have put the tracks through all sorts of twists, turns, and loops, and they've held up perfectly. The set is also easy to clean up and store, making it convenient for parents too. It's a great value for the price, offering countless hours of enjoyment and learning. I highly recommend this toy set.

Train very quickly stopped working
This very nearly got a five star review but unfortunately after a very short time the train stopped working. It sounded as though it was working but the wheels no longer went round. This was such a shame as the track itself fitted together beautifully and the train and carriage were lovely. The police vehicles were ok a bit thin, light and plasticky but they looked good and the policeman looked a lot like a Lego figure.I can’t recommend it as it just doesn’t work any more

Provides some fun
The media could not be loaded. WellIt’s a sort of train set with some extra bits such as carsComes in a nice big box with the pieces all wrapped in packets and all clearly markedWith clear easy to follow instructionsThere’s not much to it - takes about 15 -20 minutes for a child to set up and then you have it complete. The main railway locomotive has magnetic couplers and a carriage joins onto itYou live it by manually pushing itNo batteries no automationIt’s all pretty simple and has some replay value for younger children from age 3 to about 7.Overall attractive and provides some fun for a child3/5
