Well, they've made a breakthrough with this product. I've used around 5 electric pre-shave products, and this one works the best, and significantly better than the rest. It softens the skin and raises the hairs for a closer shave and it works quickly. It also coats the skin with a protective layer. I use a Panasonic Arc 5 and shave immediately after getting out of the shower. It's almost unbelievable how well this works. The shave time is shortened by about 1 minute (the Arc 5 gives you the shave time) and the shave is so close that it's equivalent to if I shaved against the grain with a DE razor. The most important part is I have absolutely zero irritation. The ingredient that gives the protective layer really works.The only downside for me is the scent. I could do without it. As others have said, it's a cheap Axe type scent and it's really strong. The good thing is that you don't have to use much of this product for the shave. Also, I always wash my face after I shave to get any of the extra product off. I then slap on some aftershave and even after all that I can still smell the Freelette scent, but it's very subtle.Conclusion: Incredible product. It makes the shave more efficient and close and completely eliminates irritation. If they made this unscented it would be perfect, or at the very least decreased the concentration of the scent.

Just a dab will do. Without a good pre-shave, I always end up with sores and ingrown hair. This has eliminated that problem. The scent is pleasant and masculine and acts as an aftershave, leaving your face cool and comfortable.

This product works ok,but no better than others that I have used at a much lower price. While it is OK,I don't see the advantage of using it at the price point.

I bet I've tried over 100+ pre/post shave creams and lotions, and none of them match this one. Feels wonderful going on and rinses off easy after shave. Also, dries quickly post shave and it smells great too. Only drawback is, it needs to come with a pump, then it would be prefect. This will be a continued purchase in my shave routine.

I've used an electric and blades for over 50 years, with almost every product available. I mostly use a Panasonic Arc 5 electric now, and occasionally a DE razor. My electric routine is usually the same as for a DE blade shave - shower, pre-shave, shaving brush with artisan soap, witch hazel and aftershave. This substantially increases the time required and reduces the convenience of an electric - although it's about half the time required for a DE blade shave - but does provide the maximum comfort available with an electric shaver, for me. This product eliminates the need for all of that: just wet and dry your face, apply the Freelette and shave. Nothing else required. It's a pre-shave and aftershave all in one - you don't really need to do anything else, although any favorite aftershave or lotion would work with it because it's very unobtrusive, but a nice cologne-based, fougere-type scent in it's own right. A pleasant, very light scent, wonderfully moisturizing, with no oily or greasy feel afterwards like with Williams or Afta, and no alcohol fumes or burn. This may be the perfect electric prep, and is now my go-to for travel. The plastic bottle and aluminum cap are just about indestructable in a Dopp kit or travel bag, take up very little space, and one bottle should last several weeks. Downside - the container is slightly over (3.7 oz) what TSA allows for travel containers in carry-ons (3.4 oz max), but you could transfer it. Otherwise the best electric pre-shave you can get in my opinion - highest recommendation.

Product works very well and I've tried several over the years. Does permit a closer shave with far less discomfort. But PLEASE make an unscented version. The scent is not totally unpleasant but it is far too strong and overpowering. And it does not wash off. I usually shower after I shave and wash my face with soap and water but still the scent remains. Unscented would definitely be the way to go.

This product works! Unlike several less expensive off-the-shelf brands that I've tried, this one actually delivers an electric shave that is comparable to what I get with my Harry's razor. And with NO RAZOR BURN! My electric shaver is an old Braun. Even with fresh blades, cheaper pre-shaves irritate my skin and leave stubble. Not this product! It carries a light, pleasant, fresh scent that I'm sure most users will enjoy. And it leaves my skin soft. Don't waste your money on the cheap "name" brands when you can get a great shave with this product!

I like the fact that it is moisturizing, shave time is reduced and nice close shave. I don't like the fact that you have to rinse your hands after applying and that it is relatively expensive compared to other options. Otherwise a five star overall.

It has a great smell. No skin irritation. Very high quality product, totally recommended!

I have tried several different pre-electric shave lotions but this gives me the best results by far. Nothing else gives me such a close, smooth shave with my Braun electric razor. It’s rather pricey but a little goes a long way — resist the tendency to use too much. A bottle lasts me about 6 months and I am about to order my third. It smells very nice too!
