Super cute!
Love all of the music features and options for music, lights or both. Penguin is soft and durable and I also love how the penguin has to be in its home to activate the lights. The lights are soft and soothing, at night, but can't be seen at all during the day even with the curtains closed. Would like for the lights to be brighter for nap time during the day. But really sweet toy otherwise!

Cry detect is weak.
This thing does not work. Works fine when you first turn it on but the cry detection is awful. Sometimes it turns on for like 2 seconds and turns off but usually it doesn’t do anything.

Plug in would work better
Works great, but a plug in model that will play all night would have been better. Has an auto on function that reactivates when baby makes sounds, but not that reliable.

Disappointing Performance for a Gift
Bought the VTech Baby Soothing Starlight Igloo as a gift for a friend’s baby, but it didn’t work out as well as I’d hoped. It tends to stop working in the middle of use or shut off randomly, which is frustrating when it’s meant to help soothe a baby to sleep. The sound and light features also seem inconsistent, and the volume isn’t very stron. The sensor is not responding properly and the device is cutting out sooner than expected. It’s a lovely idea and looks cute, but the overall performance didn’t match what I was expecting for a gift.
