White Shell with Black Ink. Bonus tracks only included in the download. Originally released in 2013, Kero Kero Bonito's debut mixtape, Intro Bonito, was a monumental success in the underground hyperpop scene bubbling up throughout the band's hometown of South London. The trio, featuring Gus Lobban, Jamie Bulled, and Sarah Midori Perry, started crafting their unique blend of electronic pop music after school friends Gus & Jamie met Sarah on the internet. With Perry's unique singing style (featuring lyrics in both Japanese and English), the band went on to write influential tracks such as "Sick Beat," "I'd Rather Sleep," "Pocket Crocodile," and others that were inspired by J-pop, dancehall, and video game music. The Intro Bonito mixtape paved the way for Kero Kero Bonito's rise from underground glitch pop wizards to a monumental act within the PC Music scene and beyond. Since it's release, the trio has built up a devoted fanbase across the globe, racked up over 500 million streams & video views across multiple albums, EPs, and singles, collaborated with numerous high-profile artists (e.g. 100 gecs, Porter Robinson, Felicita, Soccer Mommy, Ashnikko, etc), and performed at festivals around the world.

Brilliance. These guys deserve way more attention, though I can't see them ever breaking into mainstream popularity. Something about their sound just makes me really, genuinely happy. Hope to hear a lot more KKB in the future!

Candy coated lyrics, digital soda, and Anglo-Nippon magic.
I had only very recently even known that KKB was a thing, but I heard a clip of theirs on a Podcast. The song stuck in my head and I wanted to hear more. There wasn't much on the youtube so I said, lets just get the album. Didn't know what to fully expect but the price was right. I didn't even take a test listen before a road trip into the Bay Area with my sister. We had kind of an early start, but I bumbped KKB and it was really nice. The dance between Japanese and English lyrics is fun. Really kept us off our feet when we thought we were figuring out the lyrics. Lots of non-sequitors and random vocabulary associated together. Some songs are quite short. Heavy synth-pop influence, but the lead vocals are so cute and ear friendly that you just want to go with it. In actuality there are probaby 4 MUST HEAR songs on the album. I think two of the songs are repeated with some special versions and everything else just goes to build up the atmosphere. This couldn't be an everyday listen for me, but it's nice at a party or to lift the spirits. KKB!

Astronaut or a Rock Star - That's what I want to be.
Japanese CD import of KKB's debut mix tape. Some great tunes (Sick Beat, Homework) and great creativity from fantastic young UK group

Fun :D
Music that makes you want to dance like a wild person with every hint of awesomeness associated with what you think mixing video game music in would be.
