Great replacement for failed OEM Gigabyte Aorus 15P YD
Update: charger failed after 14 days. Amazon accepted it for a refund. I'm ordering another one hoping that I had a bad one and will update here as needed.TL;DR: Great replacement for failed OEM power brick for Gigabyte Aorus 15P YD gaming laptop.My original power brick started failing under high CPU/GPU load (laptop would stop charging and input power and switch to battery mode) causing it to be unusable as a gaming laptop. The original model number on the OEM brick was Chicony A17-230P1A, UP/N: A230A022P. However this Chicony unit from Amazon has the same model number with a different UP/N: A280A029P. I was worried it wouldn't be compatible with my laptop with a different number but I ordered it to try anyway. So far I've got about 12 hours gaming at full power and have had zero issues. This power brick does get hot (just like the original one did) but that's to be expected. Overall I'd recommend and would buy it again.

Danger for laptops
This item short circuited my laptop within 30 seconds of hitting power. I do not recommend, they advertised it as a Chicony charger in the photographs. They have since edited the pictures to remove Chicony. Do not recommend this purchase.

It does it's job but will get warm
Don't overbuy - get the one to match the supply that came with your system. And note that these larger ones don't normally come with a set of plug adapters so they work with a lot of systems. This was for a Gigabyte 32GB system with and NVIDIA RTX 4060 so I was stuck laying out the money for this power supply. So far, no complaints.

Bad charger do not buy
Overheated very quickly when playing games on my areo 17. After a month of use just stopped working after waking up this morning. Do not recommend as a replacement for the manufacturer charger.
