I watched a good amount of doll customizing Youtubers who use this brand but thought that other well renowned pastels would perform pretty much the same way. Maybe they could if I took the time to grind them into a pallete.PanPastels are absolutely awesome. The shades are super pigmented. Pretty much the color you see is what you get on the doll. The makeup pallete like storage makes them great for doll makeup. They last a long time and they hardly take any layers to build up color. Yes the initial price investment can be a little steep but you'd be better off just getting the colors you need than buying other brick pastel sets and then coming back the PanPastel.For this specific color, it's very mute and light. It's like the palest skin tone with a spritz of a pink caramel. Still super versatile for what i used it for but it's definitely not the basic light skin tone shade I thought it would be. Closer to white than it is to peach.

First time I used it works just as I was hoping

I'm not a professional artist, but I AM a professional shopper of art supplies - according to my Husband The Complainer - and all I can say is that I'm halfway through my first pastel work (see attached photo of "Snakey") and I LOVE these Pan Pastels. From what I understand, everyone who uses them loves them, and my little review is hardly necessary. I CAN say, however, that I have used them also for polymer clay, and I can speak to their wonderful qualities in that field, having had an amazing experience with them for over 20 years now. You can use Pan Pastels on uncured (preferred) clay, and NEVER worry about it not working - it will stay put through any sort of condition you can imagine. It survives through the baking process, even multiple bakings, and looks as fresh and beautiful as it did when you first applied it, the same as it does when you apply it on Pastelmat when using it for artwork (as in Snakey). I don't consider myself an "artist," but I'm having a ball using these. I know they're expensive, but they're actually NOT when you think of how little you use at a time. Compared to pastel sticks, you are using barely a fraction of the amount. If you take the time to compare the two, you will see. The results with Pan Pastel, however, are worth the investment, no matter the cost, though, if results mean anything to you. And they should.

I'm a 76 year old who's just learning to draw with charcoal. I plan to use this on black paper along with white charcoal as demonstrated in several YouTube videos.I haven't used it yet, but it looks like it will be fun.

First item was thrown in the box, and the pan pastel was broken up. I called i Any replacement was sent out that one to arrived damaged. The product itself is great however, packaging needs to be better.

This stuff makes painting with Pan Pastels almost like painting with oils- it goes on so smooth and allows blending easily- Not much more to say other than it will extend use of your pan pastels which helps

I like this paint, even though I haven’t used it very much. I think it will be a fun addition.I have one complaint though. I ordered a set, which comes well packed in a plastic case. It came in great shape. I ordered a single white to go with it. It came singly, not in a case. It was loose in a packing bag and it came completely pulverized to powder. So I won’t order any more single colors unless someone can assure me that it will be packed in a protective way.

This is a quality product and I love the color!

These little gems are so much fun to create with. They are so smooth and vibrant. They are great to use for all stages in your creation from 1st layer to final layer. They work nicely with all of my other chalk pastels. If you need to amp up your darks however, I feel I do need to apply my other pastels to give it that little extra contrast. Although the price tag is high, they will last a long long time. Just like all art supplies, you get what you pay for and I would highly recommend these.
