Cool Vest Personal Cooling, 59 Degrees for 2.5 hours 8 Cool Packs, Recharge in 30 Minutes

I purchased a Glacier Tek Sport Vest because I've seen other golfers at my club wearing cool vests and was referred by one of them to this product. It is absolutely amazing - comfortable, snug fit (fully adjustable) and performs better than claimed. It moderates body core temperature without being too cold or too warm, and last for a complete round of golf. It is pretty warm now in Southern California and the reduced heat stress makes a big difference on how I feel when done (wish it lowered my score....). I've tried cooling towels are similar items that didn't do anything after 5 minutes of use, and I've seen some vests that cost two or three times as much from Europe that didn't perform as well, and just seemed kind of gimicky. This vest works! Is easy to recharge in cold water, lasts a long time and is very comfortable and not bulky. I would recommend this vest to anyone who works or plays in the heat of summer. It will keep you refreshed and cool, and able to make fun of your friends who don't own a cooling vest!

Cooling vest works very well! Used as a landscaper in 80-95 degree weather.. absolutely helped! Keep a separate cooler on the truck with ice and water to swap out packs. The hotter it is the better the vests feels. As the solid chunks become liquid you will feel the liquid bounce around which can be annoying. It says if there's any chunks left its keeping it 60 degrees but once it becomes liquid against your body it just absorbs all the heat and becomes hot. depending on your body heat and how hot it is outside the amount of time you'll get out of it will vary!The vest comes apart and is easily washed in a basin or container with some soap and water. I wouldn't recommend machine washing the vest.Only giving 4 stars because of the lack of customer support. Bought a 2nd vest for one of my workers but he declined to wear it so I tried to return an unopened/sealed vest and gel packs but after 2 emails I got no response from the company. No way to return it.

It's one thing when you buy something on Amazon and it's useless but it was only twenty bucks so you shrug your shoulders and return it But $200 for virtually nothing, that's something else.However I must of gotten a different product from the one that keeps large dudes working in 100+ degree warehouse and it keeps them nice and cold.My use for this product was much easier, I run hot and I wanted to save on A/C. So I stuck the ice pack in a 0 degree freezer for several days. Finally it was kinda warm today and the house stuffy so figured I'd give it a try. I put in the packs put on the vest and pulled the velcro tight. I tried it first with no shirt but the velcro straps were digging in so I realized definitely need a t-shirt. Except on the major problem, without the t it was barely cold I kind of felt a coolness, but when I finally put on a shirt it rated 0. I almost felt the coolness. Worthless. when I pulled out the packs I put one directly against my skin and it cool at best. \Do not waste your money on this.

I have a medical condition that causes me to overheat easily and it's not just feeling hot - it's becoming light-headed, having difficulty thinking, and extreme fatigue. In the past I have limited my time outdoors, and then come in, laid down on the couch, and put a cold pack on my chest, neck etc. This worked, but meant I was immobile. The vest is a huge improvement. It is comfortable and easy to adjust to fit the way you want. And it means I can walk around - outside and inside. I still limit my time outdoors, but when I come it, if I haven't been wearing my vest, when I put it on it feels so good. Getting cooled from both sides of my torso is great. Also the packs go solid in the freezer really quickly and even in the refrigerator in a couple of hours. At least as I use them, the packs stay cool a long time. It was a big swallow to spend this much money, but I have no regrets.

product is extremely basic. For some idiotic reason I imagined the higher price meant better design and quality engineering. not that it doesn't work. seems to work fine. Just very basic and not worth 200$ !

I work in a manufacturing setting as a press operator and although my company has rented a 40 ton capacity air conditioning unit the production floor still gets so hot that it is evident that people are on the verge of heat prostration- you can see it by the red faces and stress as they move at a slower pace than usual. In my corner of the building the heat builds up so much on 90°F days that the press electrical cabinet sometimes fails in what is actually about 120°F to 125°F ambient temperatures. Last Friday I actually got sick from the heat and I decided to do something about it by ordering this cooling vest. I was especially impressed with the fact that the gel packs freeze at 59°F in 20 minutes if they are submerged in ice water. A fully re-charged set of gel packs do not feel like ice cubes but the cooling sensation is strong enough to weather the hottest and most humid conditions. It cools off your core effectively, allowing you to have a clear mind while moving at an aggressive pace throughout the shift. However, you must plan in advance how you will recharge your gel packs! You will want to change them out every 2 to 3 hours. I bring a Play- mate cooler with me to work stocked with big blocks of ice which I make using Rubbermaid containers in my downstairs freezer. It holds water bottles and my gel packs. On a brutal night working nine hour shifts this cooling vest will increase your productivity and comfort exponentially. I highly recommend it for anyone who is working in misery because of the heat! Consider it an investment in your health and both mental and physical power. The garment and gel packs are of excellent, top-notch quality.
