SHIMANO Ultegra 6800 Quick Release Road Bike Skewer Set, Dark Gray

I bought these quick releases to replace those on my Mavic wheels. These are more solid and with a little tension hold the wheels firmly. It is best to follow the instructions of Shimano to tighten the levers because it is very easy to put a lot of pressure with little effort, the internal cam mechanism keeps everything firmly attached. The weight of both is 120g, which is quite reasonable considering the solid alloy construction and quality and finish. For the record, the Mavics I replaced weighed 110g, but the body of the mechanism was plastic and of lower quality compared to these Ultegra (don't get me wrong, the Mavics were good, but these are simply superior). If you are considering changing quick releases of your wheels it is better to invest in one of these.

Ultegra is a name that I can trust. That is all I have to say. The skewers don’t lock in which makes it a bit bothersome but as long as it’s in, its not going anywhere. Very pleased. Not too heavy for the amount of robust material either. Def get.
