Corn Silk Translucent Pressed Face Powder - Semi-Matt

I've used Corn Silk since I was a teen to keep my skin matt and oil free (currently 38 years old). It's not available in the high street shops anymore, so being able to buy on Amazon is great. I buy it for my daughter now that she has teenage oily skin. It really takes away the shine and doesn't block pores. I apply it about 3 times a day. It's one of those beauty products I can't live without.

The item arrived before 31st December, the speedy delivery was great. The item is something I have used since my early 20s and am now 73, so I guess you could say that this product is a WINNER! I have used Corn Silk for many years now. it does the job when face a bit shiny. It suits all skins and lasts for ages. On top of this handsome compact with mirrow..very good value in the true meaning of the word. And for some unknown reason the retailer that introduced me to it and the only one to sell instore has now stopped hence my delight to find it on Amazon

If you can't reach to the Laura Mercier and Nars translucent powders (I can't blame you), this is a good shout. I'm medium dark with yellow undertones and it doesn't 'show' on my skin in terms of an ashy cast. I wear mac NC45 if that helps anyone. I do use this power to set my makeup and before I spray any fixing spray on, and the powder has helped the makeup's staying power (compared to if I just use makeup setting powder alone). The pressed power is heavier than the loose powder in the cornsilk, and the compact is pretty old fashioned but the effect of a smooth face with blurred pores will work and hold.If you're accustomed to the finely milled powder of Laura Mercier, you might run away from this one screaming. Or if you find that it doesn't work out for you as a finishing powder, try putting it on your face first before you put on your foundation and it's supposed to keep the foundation on for longer.Update: I think it's caused me breakouts on my jaw and chin because it's so heavy. So I am keeping it to my T zone (nose and chin) until it's done, and I won't buy it again.

Although not quite as perfect as the Matt Corn Silk powder (now discontinued) this is still leagues ahead than other pressed powders, it eliminates all shine without caking or leaving your skin orange, it feels light on the skin and provides a look similar to using a selfie filter. Please do not discontinue this powder as I haven't found a single powder that matches up to it's shine eliminating properties.

I've been using the cornsilk loose powder for a couple or so months. Decided to try the compact to be able to take out with me easily as well.Both are really good,the compact powder is soft enough that a brush lifts enough of the powder easily, but much less messy than loose powder. Both work really well at setting make up and are such a good price. The only reason it gets 4 stars is the actual packaging is horribly cheap feeling, thin plastic that cracks easily. The lid on the loose powder broke after a couple of weeks

Best face powder ever - absorbs oily sheen and finishes off your face without adding colour or heaviness to your make up. You can carry this around in your bag for touch ups. Only problem is that the packaging is not as sturdy as it could be - it is a touch difficult to open and I think the clasp may not last as long as the powder.

Good value for money - quick delivery - although translucent I think it as colour in it as get a kind of creamy tint to it which can sometimes look a bit fake - creme puff it's as good and has got a little pink - red tone to it to look more natural - creme puff tempting touch 53 - good for pale red skin tones
