Good specs; Questionable future support
I work in IT (with computers) as my primary form of employment, and when I compared low cost laptop's hardware and pricing, this unit (despite only having a single 5 star review at the time) caught my eye. A better CPU, with better integrated graphics, than many others at the same (for my purchase) $300 USD price point, 16 GB of ram instead of 8 GB, 1 TB SSD instead of 512 or 256 GB, 15.6 inch 1080P display instead of 14 inch, and a full keyboard (with a numpad)... all good things. The unit arrived in very good, renewed, condition. Windows 11 had been installed and was setup for OOBE (out of box experience) initial setup. Unfortunately, this was Windows 11 22H2 instead of 23H2. After fully patching 22H2, I went to the manufacturer's website to download the latest drivers... only to find that this model (GWNR71539-bk) is listed for sale on the website... but not in the support section (for downloading the manual or drivers). From there, I used the Microsoft Win 11 Installation Assistant to update to Win 11 23H2 (since Microsoft wouldn't give me the option from Windows Update). Disk cleanup and optimization (trimming) completed, and another round of Microsoft bloat removed.UEFI was now checked (with the DEL key). Some important specs and benchmarks to go with the stated ones:1. The memory is soldered, single module (not dual channel), DDR4 running at 2.4Ghz. 1 GB has been dedicated to the integrated graphics and another 7.5 GB is available if needed. CPU-Z can't determine the manufacturer, and the ram's timings are set to 18-18-18-39-57-2T.2. The SATA SSD is a no-name (likely Transcend manufactured) 1 TB unit. CrystalDiskInfo reports the drive as a new drive (based on power cycles).3. The WiFi is a 802.11ac (WiFi 5) Realtek 8821CE unit.4a. The UEFI (which looks and functions like an old BIOS) has a Build (update) Date of Sept. 15, 2023.4b. The UEFI is somewhat bare bones for user settings, and in general... there is no reason to go there.5. The mainboard, within CPU-Z, doesn't report its manufacturer.6. CPU-Z's cpu bench has the Ryzen 7 3700U with 364.4 single thread & 1645.7 multi thread. Compared other 15w TDP notebook CPUs, not bad.7. A run of the free 3DMark 11, on performance settings, came back with 3,034 graphics, 5,878 physics, and a combined 1,900. This puts it ahead of "year 2013" gaming laptops but lower than "2013" office PCs. Entry settings are better, with 4,486, 5,879, and 2,219. Most importantly, during the benchmarking, you could hear the fans of the unit, but they never screamed.8. The 1080P display has some quite noticeable backlight bright spots.9. The touchpad is responsive and easy to use.10. It has two speakers that operate in stereo mode, but get some good earbuds for quality audio. It has bluetooth capability, but I didn't test this.11. It can play 4k YT video without skipping, but those earbuds will come in handy as the fans do ramp up. Play videos at 1080P or 720P.Should you buy it? Not for gaming. But, with these hardware specs... it will likely be able to survive several years of OS and browser patching, a potential Windows 12 upgrade, etc. The SATA SSD is large enough to copy, and the CPU to run, some ripped video contant. But, with the limited support on the manufacturer's website... you are rolling the dice. I bought the extended, aftermarket, warranty.Hope this helps those that wanted more technical information.

Good ratio quality - price
Good performance, plastic feels kind of cheap.

Waste Of Money
The camera and sound quality are extremely poor. After a few months both hinges broke. I would never purchase a Gateway Laptop
