🎥 Capture Every Moment with Clarity!
The JJC 3.5mm Audio Adapter Mic Adapter is designed specifically for DJI Osmo Action 4 and 5 Pro, allowing users to connect external microphones for high-quality audio recording during high-speed activities. It features a USB-C port for simultaneous charging, a secure snap design for stability, and a compact size for easy portability. Note that it is not compatible with earlier models and is intended solely for microphone use.

Terrible feedback and popping noises.
I’ve had this for a few weeks now and in hopes to swap out some cables to see if that was the issue and multiple microphones, this adapter just seems to be a defective. I’m also noticing for recordings more than 30 to 40 seconds to audio also doesn’t lineup and gives terrible cracking and popping noises overlaid within the audio as well. Absolute crap.

Works great!
I bought this adapter to allow me to connect both an external mic and to run the DJI Action off of an external battery at the same time. After five hours of recording time, I can confirm the adapter works great. It fits nice and snug against the action camera. Since I use the camera on a stationary tripod I cannot comment on how secure it would be during movement but it does feel secure.

Endless popping during recordings
I've tried recording the audio at 30% and it still pops. This is a terrible item and should not be selling because it doesn't work well.

Works well but can’t be used with a case
While the pictures show that you can plug the adapter with the case still on, it doesn’t provide a very secure connection and the adapter keeps popping out. Since the unit is made with plastic, I wonder if the plastic was molded with a wide tolerance, making it not a very precise fit. I find that I have a better connection when I use the adapter without a case. Other than that, it works pretty well to add direct audio to your video recording. Though I do notice that there’s an auto compression that happens so that the loud part gets squashed and the quiet audio gets artificially boosted. This auto compression may be happening in the camera side rather than the adapter. I’m only mentioning this so those who looking to record audio directly are informed. The one star deduction is for the cheap plastic body which may cause the ill-fitting connection when the camera is used in the provided case.

Terrible audio signal
I've tried multiple sources and multiple cables at multiple volume and gain levels. I even adjusted the gain within the camera, but not matter what, the audio is always warbling and jittery. You can hear what's coming through the audio source, but the quality is very low. I would not recommend purchasing this.

Works with DJI Action 4
Have used 2 different shotgun mics with my DJI Action 4 with great sound results.

Better audio but irksome design
This little adapter does help you achieve better audio (it's main purpose), and it's designed specifically for the DJI Osmo Action series, snapping firmly into place. Unfortunately, I find the design to be so problematic that I doubt I'll use it much. The first problem isn't JJC's fault; it's that DJI didn't include a mic port... which then requires this device that, while tiny, extends beyond the cage. This makes it just beg to be broken off if you do anything that bangs it. Your Action camera isn't quite so action anymore. Again, this is a DJI design flaw. But the JJC also requires that you remove the Action's door completely in order to attach the adapter. This process is finicky (due to the door design), and increases the chance that the door will get lost. On the Action 4, this means the camera is no longer water-proof. The door issue would go away if the adapter was just a little smaller (though the JJC is also using the door hinge for attachment). Finally, I wish that the adapter had a headphone port for monitoring, rather than a USB-C port for charging on the adapter. It's easy to take the adapter off for charging, so audio out would be much more helpful. The device is well made, and does what it's supposed to do, so if you really need better audio it might be the right choice.
