COFFRET ASTRID _ RAP

I erroneously bought this set thinking it would have English subtitles available like there are streaming on Amazon, there isn't. Within a few days I realized the issue and started a refund which was issued immediately. Fortunately I started the return fast enough that it wasn't shipped out. There was some confusion about that since it showed the item had been shipped, but it had been caught before it could be sent out. If it had been shipped I would have just been tasked with returning it. Customer service was able to answer all of my questions within 24 hours and made the process quick and painless. I would recommend it only if you are comfortable enough with French and don't need subtitles.

The tv show that PBS’s Patience was based on. While Patience is ok, Astrid (aka Astrid & Raphaelle) is the superior show in terms of character and the friendship that develops between the two female leads. As this is a Frenco-Belgian production make sure you have a region free player to watch it in the United States. A great tv show and complete series box set!

First of all, this is a great mystery series with standout acting and character development, and imaginative storytelling. It’s one of my favorite shows. I especially appreciated getting this dvd set as I studied French intensively in my college days, but never got a chance to practice what I’d learned. I’m enjoying watching this charming show with French subtitles and find that (with the help of the subtitles), I can follow along with decent comprehension. For me, these dvd’s provide a French language refresher course in a very entertaining way. Although - helas - I will still probably never get to use my hard-won French proficiency in a real-world situation, it’s great fun to be able to practice it this way. It was also fun to receive an Amazon package from Lyon, France! It took about two weeks to get to my home, but that’s to be expected with an international shipment, and it arrived in perfect condition.

One of the best police procedurals ever to be shown on TV (as good as Endeavour). Every episode has a unique and interesting plot line which keeps the series fresh. Moreover, the acting by Sara Mortensen as Astrid (as an autistic investigator) and Lola Dewaere as Raphaëlle (a police detective) is very well done, smart, and the evolution of the relationship is very heartwarming. French TV is missing out on a huge market by not issuing the series DVDs with English subtitles. We would immediately buy them as would many of our friends.

I have watched Astrid et Raphaelle and Patience the British spin-off adaptation and Astrid et Raphaelle the original is by far the better of the two, in my opinion the characters are more engaging, and Sara Mortensen is more believable as the main character than the British portrayal. I enjoyed them both, but I prefer the original French version.

I just don’t understand why there hasn’t been an English subtitled version offered for sale. As soon as an English subtitled version is available I’ll grab it. The actress who plays Astrid is fantastic and all the relationships with the other characters is wonderful.

Cette série nous a emballés, mon mari et moi et maintenant notre petite-fille âgée de 17 ans. C'est un vrai régal de vivre l'évolution d'Astrid et de Raphaelle, toutes deux transformées par cette belle amitié. Elle permet de mieux appréhender l'autisme. Il y a des enquêtes policières, de l'amour, de l'humour, on ne s'en lasse pas.
