Advantages and challenges of exosomes
“Are exosomes FDA-approved?"The book is so full of required information and wit. However, there are cons too. Let me explore the cons first. 1) the author's presentation in this book is somewhat dependent on the previous books and that gives an impression that we need to read the previous books to fully understand this book. 2) the language is targeting a group of individuals that are well versed with cell biology. So, common readers like us have little difficulty to understand the concepts. For instance, Malthusian warnings sould be explained in detail to understand the related sentences. 3) the mentions of previous books, graphic novel and other promotional points indicate an advertising nature and reminds me of medical commercialization. Maybe the writer had other intentions but the promotional points beg to differ. Now the pros. I learned a lot. I learned the advantages and challenges (multiple donor risks) of exosomes. I learned about the realistic promises of exosomes for long healthy life and the 86 years old mom example strongly support the said. The author 's explanations of stem cell and exosomes, good and bad exosomes, gene silencing, Hayflick limit are great. I love the illustrations. I love the little family trends and history ( the use of Japanese dictionary is funny) descriptions. I love the Hindu trimurti comparisons and man and mice section. However, low frequency of the promotional points would have done better.
