I picked up the 10ft Solo strip to put behind a media console. It offers the premium Philips Hue color quality at a lower price point than their standard "Lightstrip Plus," but it has one major limitation you need to know before buying. Incredible Brightness: At 1700 lumens, this is significantly brighter than cheap alternatives like Govee or generic Amazon brands. It’s bright enough to be the primary light source in a dark room, not just "mood lighting." True Colors (RGBWW): This is a "White and Color Ambiance" strip. It has dedicated white LEDs, so you get actual warm soft white (2700K) or daylight cool white (4000K) for reading, rather than that weird blueish-purple white you get from cheaper RGB strips. Bluetooth Ready: You don't need the Hue Bridge hub to use it. You can control it directly from your phone via Bluetooth right out of the box. Value: It is cheaper than the standard "Lightstrip Plus V4" kit, making it a great entry point into the Hue ecosystem. NOT Extendable: Unlike the standard Philips Hue Lightstrip Plus, the "Solo" model cannot be extended. There are no pins at the end to plug in an extension. If you buy the 10ft version and realize you actually needed 12ft, you are out of luck. You cannot add to it. Cut = Waste: You can cut this strip to size, but unlike the pro version, you cannot easily reuse the cut-off piece or reattach it. Once it's cut, the excess is trash. Measure your space exactly before ordering. If you need to cover a long run (like a 15ft kitchen cabinet run), buy the 16ft (5m) Solo version or the Lightstrip Plus V4 instead. Do not buy two of these expecting to join them together—they won't connect. If you have a specific space (like a desk or TV stand) that is less than 10ft and you just want the best lighting quality on the market, save some money and get this. It looks amazing. But if you think you might want to expand later, spend the extra cash for the Lightstrip Plus.

Great way to add specific lighting to your desired location. The customization from brightness to color always as a nice and fun effect. Works well within the Hue ecosystem, and easy setup to the control as well if you still prefer a physical control on the wall

These cuttable light strips are a good solution for lighting in unusual angles or tight spaces like the underside of a cabinet, accent lighting for a gaming desk, or even for non-UVA/UVB lighting inside a terrarium when properly secured. The setup is as simple as Hue always is and the brightness is, if anything, a bit excessive. It works VERY well, though the adhesive backing can be a pain to get off.

Love this lightstrip - the only thing I dislike is the adhesive pad is not strong enough to hold 16 ft of lightstrip. Even with proper surface cleaning, it will eventually fall off. But the light itself is awesome. I've been having fun playing with the Hue Sync to have it change lighting with music videos, movies and especially games. Great product. Awesome range of colors and brightness. I would buy another strip even though I don't need it to link it and go across another wall.

Installed under cabinet lighting in the kitchen. 1. The lights are bright and awesome to control from the hue app. The colors are vibrant and it has multiple scene selections (included by default or you can make your own). 2. TBD on the adhesive behind the strips as I just got them. 3. The lights are extremely responsive to the app (connects via Bluetooth) and there is almost no lag Cons (took off one star because of these below) 1. These are expensive when compared to others. 2. No physical switch on the strip. So if grandma wants to switch them on or off - she has to either figure out the app or wait for someone else to do it. Have to buy a separate Bluetooth switch (more $$) 3. Installed the app on other phones in the family and logged in using my id - it has no recognition of the already connected lights. Asks for setup again even though the lights are already registered in my name/id on the app. I am hoping this is user error and not missing basic functionality. 4. The GE cync strip lights show up right in Apple home. These don’t and you need the hue hub (more $$) Overall I’d say these are better than the cync just because of the brightness and color vibrancy. I recommend them.

Love, love, love Phillips Hue products. Easy to follow install into the Phillips ecosystem and then into Google's. I only wish the electrical connection was twice or 3x as long.

Hey Man! So I was much in need of additional under cabinet lighting and I ran across these puppies. THE LEDs are plenty bright. I'll give Philips that! I liked the idea of a flexible strand that could be self-adhesive applied to most all surfaces, provided they are clean, and were LED types. Actual usage and review shows that the adhesive tape gets a 1 STAR at best. Yep, the tape sucks. I have had to retape and add further additional tape in several places. It is NOT as flexible as it STATES. Wish it were but it is not!! THERE IS NO ON OR OFF SWITCH!! (WTH) which means either always using the app OR unplugging the bulky plug. Listen my phone IS NOT ALWAYS on me! Would it be that hard to add a switch??? Come on Philips! Oh and way too pricy for what it is! Dang it! I really wanted to like this product! OH well. Just say no and keep shopping! Having lived with this product for 6 months now, I have revised it down to a 1 Star rating. Super disappointed in the tape. Pass by this product.

Llevo años integrando focos, contactos, switches, cerraduras y todo tipo de dispositivos automáticos e inteligentes. Lo he hecho en varias casas debido a mudanzas y también por petición a algunos conocidos, como es evidente la tecnología va avanzando y abaratandose con el paso de los años, y cada cierto tiempo encuentro un dispositivo mejor. En todos estos años nunca quise probar la opción de hue porque me parecía demasiado cara para las prestaciones que podías tener en comparación con otras marcas y eso dejando de lado los productoa genéricos que encuentras a precio de risa. Le di la oportunidad a esta tira porque estaba en descuento, necesitaba llegar al mínimo de compra por hot sale y ya había pensado poner una aunque no la pensaba comprar en este momento. Algo de lo que me convenció es que podía operar por bluetooth y como no tengo el módulo hue (algo que también me había detenido a comprar dispositivos hue), no esperaba más que funciones básicas a través de la app. Al instalarla, igual de sencillo como cualquier tira, y empezar a probarla me dejó sorprendido con la gama de colores, intensidad y capacidad de atenuarla. Ninguna que había probado logra lo que se puede con esta tira. El plus es que se puede conectar a Alexa (vía bluetooth) y controlar desde ahí, sin necesidad del módulo hue e incluso sin necesidad de la app (aunque la app ayuda con la configuración de ambientes), como en otros dispositivos que se necesita la app nativa para conectarse a la red wifi y luego a Alexa. Ahora el problema es que ya estoy buscando más dispositivos hue y parece no hay vuelta atrás.

these are great, so far i have not had any significant issues with the adhesive peeling off. i guess it depends on where you stick them (stuck mine on the back of my ikea desk) its really easy to connect them to the hue app via bluetooth, and once you do so its easy to change the color, brightness, and speed of changing colors.

A really great addition to our basement playroom. The ability to change the colour is a lot of fun for our son and anyone who comes over. Can be found on sale for a great price.
