Double Edge Safety Razor
I’ve enjoyed the many benefits of double edge safety razors for over a dozen years.I like the closeness of the shave and the smooth feeling on my skin “As soft as a baby’s behind”. I also like saving a lot of $$ by not buying expensive, but short-lived disposable blades. There are trade-off though, to be sure. The technique for best results requires:Lots of water, even better is steam or a hot and wet towel to prep the whiskers for 5 minutes, if you can afford the time. That’s a luxury I never had.Using the “better” brand creams and even using a brush and mug to mix it. Proraso and CREAMO cream are my favorite brands. Throw away that cheap crap in the aerosol can and “graduate” to the GOOD STUFF! Your face deserves it.Don’t forget to prep your brush by soaking it in hot water for 5 minutes. A couple drops of Shave Secret oil rubbed in to the skin can make a difference too.Wet shaving is different than what you may be used to. Once lathered, use an even, downward stroke with almost no pressure. Try not to do a lot of strokes, if you can help it. Relather once you’ve done a side if it needs going over again. Going against the grain is risky and can work if you are careful and again, no pressure on the razor. Just keep the angle correct and never move the razor side-to-side.That’s it, mostly. Others will have their advice, which may cover something I’ve forgotten. When I started, I watched some Youtube videos which gave me a lot of good info. This razor, despite its Low, Low price, haha! offers everything a beginner or even an experienced shaver could want in a razor and more. Excellent build quality, fit and finish. This reminds me of the heavier, chromed West German MERKUR razors I used to buy. The blade installation is the same. The head on this one is lighter, but has enough weight to offer a substantial feel. The screw-on handle threads on with no drama. The ends of the blades are safely covered while mounting the head to the handle. Easy-peasy. The long 4.33’ knurled handle provides confidence with ample control.Having the silicone cover is a big plus and should not be underestimated. If you’ve ever reached in a bag and cut your fingers on your razor, D’oh!, then you’ll appreciate this important safety feature.I tried the razor out today after have a 3 day growth on my thick beard. I didn’t have much time, so I probably hurried more than I should have, but still got an awesome shave. I did get a few tiny cuts, mostly because I didn’t follow some of the rules above, haha!, but nothing that wouldn’t instantly go away once I hopped in the shower and dried off. This came with 10 blades.Bottom Line:If you are ready to say “Hello!” to close shaves and say “Goodbye!” to high priced blades, make your move now and get this razor. It is an outstanding deal and a great value. You get a lot for your money. My W. Germany Merkurs’ were $40, IIRC. You can find blades well below 0.10 each and you may get 2, 3, 4, and perhaps even 5 shaves with one blade. I have a heavy beard and usually get 2-3 shaves per blade. YMMV. Welcome Aboard to wet shaving with a double edge razor!

Decent, a bit more aggressive angle than I prefer.
This is decent for the price. I've tried a number of double edged blade shavers in this price point and this is about par for the course. The blade angle is a bit more aggressive than I prefer, requiring me to be more careful when shaving to avoid nicks. The handle has to be unscrewed to change blades (a common design), but the alignment pins are in the top part of the shaver rather than the part that fits right on the handle - not a huge difference but not what I'm used to.The handle shape is nothing fancy, but the knurling is large enough to be easy to grip with wet hands.

No More Toilet Paper Face.
The Grooming Society Double Edge Safety razor came with the handle, ten double sided blades and a silicon covering for the head. For almost my entire grooming life, I was strictly a user of regular disposable razors and it's only been in recent times I discovered the concept of safety razors with flat two-sided blades. I have found their biggest advantage is in a closer and more through shave than I've rarely achieved with anything less than a three bladed standard razor. For those who new to this or always slicing up their skin, using the product might seem intimidating at first till one finds the proper way to use it. The key is a gentle pressure to where one hardly feels the blade and using very quick strokes in succession. For those old enough to remember the old-time barber shops and their formidable looking straight razors, using this requires a similar approach. Mimicking this technique, I didn't once nick the skin and experience the pain and borderline need for a transfusion that has sometimes resulted from regular disposables. The blades are sharp and durable enough that the first one has already lasted two weeks of use while alternating sides. With ten per pack to start, I fully predict the need to purchase additional blades should take a while. Placement of the blade to the handle was effortless. The only double edge (no pun intended) conundrum to having two sides to the razor, is while they may last longer (it's like getting 20 blades instead of 10), but since both sides are identical in appearance it makes it very difficult to only use one side till it gets dull and then switch. For a superior shaving experience that, used properly, will give a close shave without the accompanying facial damage and exsanguination, I can recommend this product.

Excellent Wet Shaver Set
This would make the perfect kit for those being introduced to wet shaving. It contains a lightweight Double-edged shaver with a handle that features a nice grip. A silicone cover protects the shaver to ensure that someone will not accidentally get cut while carrying or traveling. Also included in this gift set are 10 blades which should last about three months.Since I wear a beard I only needed to shave my neck. The razor did an excellent job of providing a smooth shave. The handle of the razor was a bit light for my liking. I prefer a heavier shaver. This is the reason why I think is best for beginners who will eventually opt to go with something heavier. For just under $10 (at the time of this review), this shaving set is a great bargain given its quality of wet shaver and blades. Don't hesitate to pass this over.

Silicone razor cover makes this the one to order
Review for “Double Edge Safety Razor for Women Rose Gold with 10 Blades and Silicone Cover - Durable Metal Eco-Friendly Single Blade Safety Razor - Closed Smooth Shave”Color: Rose GoldI really like the inclusion of a silicone razor cover for travel and storage. I feel that’s what makes this ladies razor stand out over the others. Although I have my preferred brand of razor blade, the ones included with this kit are fine and I’ll certainly use them up first. The razor itself is very pretty, and the carved handle gives it a texture to make it easier to hold upside down in the shower when doing the legs. Happy with this razor. Happy shaving!
