The Woolrich is a sporty update to the original silhouette but revitalizes it with a lightweight canvas upper and chunky buckle fastening Dr. Martens is the stuff of legends. It all began near Munich, Germany in 1945 when Dr. Klaus Maertens injured his foot in a skiing accident in the Bavarian Alps. To make walking easier during the healing process, he designed a shoe with an air-cushioned sole. Using old rubber tires, he constructed soles that had air trapped within closed compartments. He showed his prototype to his engineer/inventor friend, Dr. Herbert Funck, and together they decided to develop and produce the shoes. Not only did the shoe solve the doctor's immediate problem, but it also started to sell well in Germany. By 1959 the two decided that they needed a company to produce and distribute the shoes, then called Dr. Maertens, in other parts of the world. At first, many manufacturers rejected the concept of an air cushioned sole as a short-lived gimmick. However, the R. Griggs Group, located in the village of Wollaston in England, decided to go along with the idea by creating the first work boot with the revolutionary sole. On the first of April 1960, the first cherry red eight-eyelet work boot was produced and named 1460. To sell the brand name better in England, the name was anglicized to Dr. Martens. The range was branded AirWair and the rest is history.

Roomy fit
I have very wide and problematic feet. It's very difficult for me to get stylish women's shoes that fit comfortably. I was looking for a lightweight, canvas shoe to slip in and out of, because Vans run too narrow. These look like a more supportive pair of "Chinese shoes", I used to wear as a teenager. Having worn Doc's in my younger days, I decided to try these and I'm very pleased. They definitely run WIDE, if you have a narrow foot, this might be an issue for you. I am wearing them (at least for now with socks) and still have plenty of comfort room. I took their very thin insole out and replaced it with my orthodic insert and they STILL feel big enough. With this added support, I'm fairly confident that I'll be able to wear them throughout most of our upcoming trip to Walt Disney world, and that's saying a lot.

Very adjustable
Very cute took about 2 weeks to break in wearing them every day to work. I also wore them to a music festival which helped break them in a lot. I wear a 9.5 and got the 10 they are kinda loose but you can adjust the straps to make them tighter and also wearing socks helps. I'm happy I got the 10 i'd rather them be a little too big than too small. It feels like they've formed to my feet also they fit way better than when I first got them! Side of both the shoes ripped after only 6 months

As always, only the best from Doc Martin!
I love these shoes!!!! Super comfy! I am a 6 1/2 - 7 in US sizes so I purchased 5 UK. They are a little big, but I knew that going in and I like the little bit of extra room (since theres a strap that you can adjust it doesnt make a huge impact). But if you dont like the extra room and you are a half size, you should order a size down. Super durable material. This shoe will last you a long time and a lot of wear and tear. You can wear these with anything! Be it casual or professional wear, these are super diverse and the other reason I bought them (aside from comfort).

♡♡♡
These shoes are so adorable!! They're stiff and will need to be broken in like any other pair of Dr. Martens. Due to my wide feet, I have a long history of wearing cheap canvas mary jane flats until they're destroyed, which doesn't take long, but this is a much sturider upgrade from that style of shoe and not at all too narrow. I ordered a size 7 and typically wear a 7.5, but these are a bit roomy. I do think a 6 would be too small, so I'm happy with this.

Yay so excited!
So very happy with these shoes. I am a size 8 1/2 and these are a US 8 and fit perfectly with a little wiggle room so if you're a half size, go down one.

Great seller, excellent shoes!
The seller sent my shoes very very quickly! They arrived very well packaged and in perfect condition. I would definitely purchase from them again. In regards to the shoes themselves, I love them! I'm typically a US size 7.5, so I purchased the UK6. They're a little big, but fit perfectly with some light socks. Thank you so much!

comfy, tried 2 different sizes
I ordered these in a size 5 and 6. I am usually a 5.5-6. I received the 5’s and are a little snug but i like that they dont flop. The size 6 were way to loose and because of it was rubbing the back of my heal and the sides of my ankle. I kept the 5s and walked around the house in them and they are sooo comfy! It felt as if they stretched out a bit as i used them so that fixed the snug issue. Very cute shoes! I always have issue with shoes rubbing the back of my heal but there lie right below that spot on my ankle so there is no rubbing.

Runs big, good quality for price point
I first bought a 10 because I usually wear a 9.5, but i forgot how doc martens run big. So I'd size down a half size. It was a smooth process to return and within the same week I received the correct size (9) for me. If you've had doc martens before, these are not as high quality as the boots. The sole is more of a tennis shoe style than the thick heavy sole. However with that being said the overall quality is good for the price point and being canvas. The shoe allows for enough room in the toe and even a thin sock. The width is average, but I wish the strap had one more notch especially since I wear a bigger size. They are great for everyday wear, but don't compare to the boots.

Buy 1 size smaller if you're American/Canadian
I'm usually a size 8, after reading reviews I bought a size 7! They are so perfect and lovely! The soles are thick, so I can imagine them lasting me a very long time before I have to buy a new one! The quality is great! You do have to break them in just a bit, so make sure you wear a bandage or two on your heels before you wear them for the first time! Shipping was quick an easy!

Awesome!
These Docs are so freakin cute! I love them! They are stiff in the heels, so I know I will need some bandages when I break them in. I normally wear 7.5 - 8 US, and since I'm familiar with the fit of Docs, I ordered the 7US (5UK) and they are a fantastic fit. This is the first pair of non leather Docs I've purchased, and I love them. Shout out to Amazon for selling these at the proper price. There are a few sellers that are marking them up to over three times the actual price. I always check with the Doc Marten website before purchasing. Very pleased with this purchase!!! Can't wait for the snow to go away so I can try out my new kicks! :)

So cute!!
I absolutely loved these shoes! Could be worn casual or dressed up. Nice quality and knowing Doc Martens they'll last a long time. Ordered a UK9, typically wear a Women's US12. I could just squeeze in and over time I'm sure they would stretch/break-in but my wide feet couldn't last more than 10 minutes walking around so I sent them back. Not any fault of the shoe though!

Not what I was expecting
I usually take a size 8 - these run about half size too big. I find the material and buckle is just too loose feeling. They feel cheap and not what I would expect from Dr. Martens.
