I have a 5 yo child with autism. In order to keep him safe, we need door locks on a variety of doors. These have been AMAZING. Pros: Super easy to install (best if you have a drill) - takes less than a minute. Can lock and unlock from both sides. Unobtrusive. If you don’t need them, easy to remove the sliding part or just not use. Very sturdy. Other than screwing one part into the top of doorframe no other damage. Works for kids/people that are a variety of ages/heights. Very easy to use.Cons: Can’t take with on a trip or quickly transfer back and forth - so if traveling need alternate and if need to lock multiple doors, you’ll need multiple locks. Somewhat expensive? (But IMO more than worth the money for the safety and ease of use that they provide.)Would absolutely recommend to anyone.

This product took 3 minutes to install and does what its supposed to. I have large breed dogs that I keep separate at night so that my cats can have free roam of the house. One of the dogs figured out how to work the door knob and I haven't been able to sleep thru the night since. Baby/pet gates, standard knob safety products/measures were no match for him due to his size and I'd be dragged down the hallway regularly trying to stop him in the middle of the night. I should mention that he loves the cats but loves them TOO much and I'm just afraid he will unintentionally hurt them due to his size. This product has solved everything! Just a few minutes of very easy installation with a simple hand drill and it worked like a charm. No more jumping out of bed from a sound sleep as I hear the 120lb German Shepherd slapping at the door knob! This item is made of sturdy metal and isn't an eye-sore since it's installed high up on the frame. Some may not want to drill a hole in their door frame but I'd rather slap a wad of caulk on that hole at the highest point of my door frame later than spend hours trying to WD-40 those pesky sticker adhesives that don't even work off the middle of the actual door which is what you'll be left with with other products. It always amazes me that those adhesives don't hold what you're actually trying to secure but you can't get them off the surface you tried to secure something to! This is the best money I've spent in a long time! Thank you so much GlideLok!!!

We bought this to keep our toddler from running out the back door, after he figured out the regular locks. We specifically wanted something that could be unlocked from both sides of the door, so that nobody would get locked outside. This lock is PERFECT. My husband works in his garage a lot, and this allows him to easily come back inside. Plus, the lock is so high up that little kids definitely cannot reach it. It was easy to install, and is simple to use. It is sturdy enough to hold up to my toddler repeatedly pulling on the door, and it remains locked and undamaged. We've had this for several months now and it's still working great.It was a little pricier than regular babyproof locks, but it was absolutely worth it- especially if you need access from both sides of the door.

This was very easy to install. Metal is sturdy. Easy to open/close, but as it goes on the top of the door, a bit hard to reach for a 5'3" human.I wish it came with some sort of rod or metal piece that hung down a few inches to make it easier to grab (thinking especially in case of fire). I will try getting some kind of curtain rod or fan cord and cut it down, but those may not be as sturdy as just a metal piece molded onto the item itself.It is very low profile, and that may be part of why they didn't want to add that--so no one would really notice it if you have company.

I have a 2 yr old who’s becoming very curious and opening everything. He has the tendency of waking up in the middle of the night and wandering/playing around the house. That is very dangerous. Not only can he hurt himself in the house when it’s dark but once he learns how to open the front door we’re going to be in big trouble. Since our little one has become a mini explorer we decided to put his toddler bed in our bedroom and have him sleep there with us until we can safely let him sleep in his room. We needed a safety lock that was 1. Strong, we have a strong little guy that has broken off those sticker baby locks in cabinets. 2. A lock that my husband and I can easily open from inside and outside the bedroom. This lock has ticked off all the boxes for us. It’s strong because it’s made of metal and has the option of being opened in and out of the room by sliding the metal. It was easy for my husband to instal. He drilled a hole and screwed the peg on the top of the door frame. I don’t know what people are talking about in other reviews, of things flying off/popping off. We do not have that issue and we’ve been using it for a month now. Highly recommended if you have a toddler. Those baby proof stickers are no longer strong enough and this contraption is easier to use than those door knob child locks.

My mom has dementia and has started wandering. This worked beautifully to keep her from sneaking off. I also loved that it could be unlocked from both inside the apartment and outside.

Our 2&5 y.o. bested baby proof doorknobs so we tried these. Easy to install, but make sure you double check that everything lines up first. You can slide these from either side of the door. We put these on 3 different doors and some of them slide easily and some do not. Depending on your door, it could cause marks to be left behind.

This works great! Super easy to install and to use. I like that you can lock/unlock from either side of the door and there is no way a young child could unlock it. The only downside is the price.. I do feel like they charge a lot for what it is. That being said I have purchased multiple packs and have always been happy with the product and the quality. I justify the price for the safety and peace of mind it gives.

This is an amazingly simple device. We bought two to assist caregivers with my dementia-suffering mother. Installing was extremely quick and easy - one screw. Absolutely watch the instruction video and fully read the paper instructions. Some of the best I've seen. You have to be very careful that the screw hole and post line up with the middle of of the bracket slot. Otherwise, the post can rub against the slot and be difficult to slide. I re-drilled one hole because of this mistake. I would like to see the screw itself be longer so it's embedded into the door frame or header, to better withstand the force of an elderly adult.
