LEGO DUPLO 5506: Large Brick Box

My granddaughter loves this item, especially as it was at Christmas, I think that we lost her for the day as she got so absorbed in it. I hope that she manages to keep the items all together. My only criticism is that the pieces do not automatically return to the box after play has finished and the adults have to do it!!. If LEGO could solve this one I will buy some more, maybe even for me to play with!!

He doesn't build too much on his own just yet but I can see he is interested in creating towers etc. I've also bought the Construction side box (with two cars/trucks) so this car makes it even better as he loves vehicles and he joined them all together. Don't worry about the age 1.5-5 as it is a perfect box as a starter set. I thought I needed to look for something starting at 2 years old but this one is just right.

If you can get this half price its a bargain! We have been building up our duplo collection, but it never seems like we have enough. This box is a good starter set or ideal to leave at grans house! The box it comes in is great and really encourages tidying up. Duplo is great, but an expensive hobby! We have found plenty of half price offers.

I bought this for my son and he loves playing with it. The box has a good assortment of different bricks and allows for hours of creative and educational play. The box is ideal for storage and the bricks will easily combine with other sets. Overall a great toy for any young child.

People should not be paying so much for so little.I consider LEGO utterly overrated by now, but considering how popular it is and how much it sells, they DO NOT need to have kept raising the price all these years. It's unbelievable. More so that people can even afford it!

We ordered this set for our 18 month grandchild and gave it him after Christmas (too many other presents to look at!) It is robust and well made, although he can't make individual models yet he can, with help, make a tower. Should last a long time!

A must have for kids of all ages. A good way for parents to play with children without watching TV. Also you get a decent amount of bricks in this box

Of course you've got to have duplo - it's great. However, do check how many bricks you're getting and how much your set is per block - when it's about 30p each it's rather hair-raising! This box is not 'large' but it's OK - a variety of sorts of piece, including a wheel-base and one small base-plate for building onto.
