The Build quality is very good. I really liked the colour and finish and a good size. The timber used to build the planter is very good quality too. It even comes with a plastic liner too.I had looked at several planters at some local stores, as well as online and this was not only the best looking (I love the rounded spheres at the top of each corner - a nice touch!), but the BEST value!I am using it to grow some Peas and Beans - I am thinking of getting several more of these planters to grow some bee and butterfly friendly flowers as well.I have added some wheels underneath, in each corner (Of which 2 can be locked) - To help make it easy if want to move it at a later stage. These planters can be quiet heavy when filled with soil or compost.I would recommend this product 100%.I would finally like to add that I had a question about the drainage of the planter - I emailed the company and got a reply straight back - Brilliant Customer Service!

This was purchased to replace an almost identical AFK trough which had rotted because the wood had come into contact with soil.When new one delivered a couple of the joints had come loose but a hammer and wooden block fixed those. One good improvement over the previous trough was the side panels are now one-piece rather than vertical interlocking thin strips.For some unaccountable reason the plastic liner is stapled to the base - why not just tape it on?? The staples create holes in the liner where they are not wanted - had to tape over these with duct tape. Care is needed to make the drainage holes in the 4 corners of the liner to correspond with the ones at the corners of the wooden base. I used brass drawing pins to fix the liner around the top inside edge of the trough; it's important to avoid any soil getting in between the liner and the trough as this may cause rotting of the wood.Providing some instructions on how to fix the liner, create the drainage holes and even some hints on how to fill the trough (e.g. old crocks + horticultural grit in the base to aid drainage) would have been helpful.

Really useful to have a liner to put inside - saves having to get one. I've planted my tomatoes and peppers outside, in them. Later in the year I can plant flowers. Lovely shaped planters, easy on the eye.

I find that I like every thing about these troughs. They are very attractive and once planted up with your choice of flowers etc. they look splendid. They were such good value. And the delivery was super quick.

I would have thought full bottom with a few draining holes would have been better

This is a well made, sturdy, attractive planter that comes with two liners so you have a spare. The liner fits well and the planter holds a lot of plants. I've planted it with a pretty lilac shade clematis, two deliciously scented dianthus called "memories", two shades of pink pelargoniums, a small acer maple and six petunias ;-) Looks great at the front of my house and attracts lovely comments from passers by.
