DM Journal for Shadowdark RPG: DnD Character Notebook for Campaigns, NPCs, & Session Notes in Role Playing Games

Useful tool for organizing campaigns.
Disclosure: I was gifted a copy for review.Keeping track of a campaign involves lots of notes. One can put together folders and three-ring notebooks, which inevitably get misplaced, or pick up an organized campaign journal. This journal is very well laid out and has all kinds of useful spaces to note NPC's, items, locations, rumors, etc. There are prompts to note motivations, character and personality notes, potential spin offs/connections between events, as well as map pages. Everything a DM may need to organize their campaigns, and list how it played out is found within the covers, with enough repetition of sections to allow a single journal to store several months (for a weekly game) of material. For you D&D players, there is a D&D specific version of the journal. Mostly the same, except where rule mechanics require different notations. This version has much cooler cover art, as of April, 2024

Best Gamemaster journal out there!
First of all, I’ve been playing table top role-playing games for 30 years and this is one of the best game master journals that I’ve come across. The artwork is great, and it is laid out in a logical format and is perfect for laying out your adventures and has lots of hacks and graph paper style map that can be used along with session notes and player character information. I know this is made for shadow dark role-play game, but it would be a great addition for any game master as it can be used for really any gaming system, I would highly recommend this to any dungeon master, especially the people that like to do old-school and dungeons and adventures. I would highly recommend this product well the money.

Useful tool
Somehow, I'm just recently finding out about Shadow Dark. Looking into getting the books and running a campaign. I have a DM and player campaign book by the same producer. This book, like those, is small but not too small to write in, lightweight and, although not spiral bound, lays nice and flat and is easy to write in. So far, this book also looks like it has great prompts for recording pertinent info and plenty of room. Won't be sure until I put it to use. But just having it gets an excited about getting started.

Very cool way to gather your DM thoughts
This journal looks to be amazing. I have not used it yet but it looks to be a great way to put together your notes on an adventure that then eventually will be a great way to have record of the adventures after the fact. Love that it is very affordable. The cover has beautiful skeleton artwork and feels nice to the touch. Don't expect high grade paper, but for the price point that should not be expected. Great features and great price!

Layout is well done!
Spread journaling! Love this style- as it mirrors the aesthetic and genius design of the rpg it is intended for - Shadowdark.Like its sister journal, The Character Journal, this one has the same fairly thin paper, and you should avoid using thick ink pens or markers. Stick with thin pens and pencil and you’re golden.

Great aid
I’ve used similar products for other RPGs and have always found them helpful. These don’t disappoint and the aesthetic vibe is on point for Shadowdark.
