But my Lumix takes good pics, and the replacement LCD was so cheap
When I broke the LCD display on my five-year-old camera, I pondered the idea of using it as an excuse to buy a new one. But my Lumix takes good pics, and the replacement LCD was so cheap, it was too tempting to see if I could handle the repair myself.I watched the wordless repair video on Youtube, which was all I needed to see in order to do it myself. I've never done this kind of repair, and I had a 50/50 chance of blowing it, and needing to buy a new camera. But for $14, it was a no-brainer to go for it.You will need a set of tiny phillips screwdrivers, which can be had for almost no money in discount stores. A good set of tweezers comes in handy too, as seen in the video. I also kept a magnet on the table, to keep those tiny screws from disappearing. All of these are items I already owned. You don't need all of them, but you cannot do it without the tiny screwdriver. If the screws are difficult to remove, try a different size screwdriver. When you get the right fit, you'll have less trouble. Two things that vary from the video: There is no longer a plastic film on the new LCD screens. At least, not on the version that I bought from Amazon in January, 2015.Also, the ribbon cable was more difficult to insert than it seemed to be on the video. Maybe that was just a problem for me, but it was tricky. If it gives you trouble, practice inserting the old one a few times. Don't take chances with the new one.I reassembled the camera, fired her up, and everything worked like new. I don't think I spent a full hour at it, including re-watching segments of the video, and trips to my workshop.Definitely try this repair before giving up on your old camera. Saved me hundreds.

Camera saved
I replaced my cameras phone with this. It's not as good as the original but at least I can see a picture on it. The screen is grainy and shows colors slightly different from natural and areas of shading seem patchy. It doesn't affect the quality of the picture and is just fine for snapshots, which is what I now use this for.It has delayed the purchase of a new camera for a while.

Broken screen? No problem!
Bought to replace a screen I cracked when I knocked my camera off a cart. Camera is a DMC-ZS3. Screen installed flawlessly and works flawlessly. Product is new, much cheaper than even a used camera of the same model, much less a new camera. Thrilled with the purchase!

Fixed my Wife's Camera
When my wife showed me that her Panasonic Lumix LCD display screen was broken I immediately began looking for a replacement camera. She loved her camera and it would cost about $250 - $300 to replace it with a comparable model. Only as an aside, I decided to see if it could be repaired. I was stunned to find out that there was a home repair option that only cost $14. The repair job is tricky. Watching the YouTube video is a must. (Easy to find by Google search.) The one thing that the video doesn't show is that the replacement LCD does not include a metal bracket that wraps the LCD. You need to remove the old one and place the new LCD in it. I didn't have the correct phillips screw driver to remove the screws on the camera casing. Nonetheless, all but one came off with little effort. Unfortunately, I had to drill out the last screw. It was not key to the camera's casing and doesn't show. All in all, it was a tricky but very doable repair for a low skilled and wrong tooled amateur. The key is to be meticulous and follow the video very closely. The camera now works great.

I didn't think i could do it
I didn't think I could do it. My display went haywire for no apparent reason and I immediately thought I'd have to eat the $300 camera price. I decided to give it the old college try and went on line to see if there was some YouTube instructional video's and voila! I purchased the display from Amazon and went with a German (I think) video describing the replacement. It wasn't the same exact camera but close enough. It took me about 10 mins. I was still doubtful but upon reassembly it worked perfectly. I saved myself the cost of a new camera and gained some self confidence. Sometimes things just fall in place.

Life Saver
My $300 TZ7 screen all of sudden stopped working. The only chance I had was to order a replacement screen hoping that may fix my prized camera. The screen was received in just a few days. The replacement process was relatively simple and when I turned on the switch the new screen worked. Great product and my TZ7 is like new again.
