BUYERS BEWARE!
UPDATE #2: I finally for a chance to use the new one they replaced. It FREAKING broke again. I am not joking!! Do. Not. Buy. This. You will be wasting your money!!I have attached side by side photos of the original one I purchased and the one they replaced. Same issue still!UPDATE: The company saw my review and completely replaced it free of charge! Great customer service! I have not had a chance to use the new one. Once I do, I'll update. But fantastic service!!I literally used this item ONE time and the handle was coming apart when I was using it to make pie crust dough. Do not buy this!

Comfy Grip. Does its job
The media could not be loaded. Simple, Great Grip even for left handed people. Does its job without being dangerously sharp so good to use when cooking with children.

Heavyweight Champ!
I just got this dough blender yesterday, but as soon as I took it out of the box I knew it was the best one I'd ever had! This thing is mighty! It doesn't have those wiggly jiggly blades like all the ones I've owned in the past. It is solid and stable. No need to limit its use to pie crust and shortbread. I'll probably be able to mash potatoes with it! Last night, I threw it in the dishwasher with the load of plates and pans from dinner (because I wash new utensils before using them the first time to remove any industrial stuff), and it emerged unscathed, no water spots! I love the soft finish of the handle-feels fantastic, looks sweet! I got the blue one. I will probably get the green one soon, too, just because I like this thing so much. Great price! Awesome product! Thanks!

Sturdy + Service
I have another product from Sumo, and it is magnificent. So I decided this would be the brand I'd stick to for the pastry cutter I wanted since I could trust the sturdiness, the quality of the metal, and the overall feel.Unfortunately, my pastry cutter broke after only a few uses, but when I reached out to the seller Yuca, they quickly replied that there had been a production hiccup affecting a small number of these dough cutters and replaced my product instantly, and even offering further rectification than that which was requested. Love the sense of standing behind their product. Also, side note, if you are interested in the best unheralded ice cream scoop on Amazon, go look for the Sumo ice cream scoop. It by far exceeds others, and is truly dishwasher safe which is not actually true when you go digging into the reviews/product details of most well-known (and sometimes fancier-looking) scoops out there. Love this brand.

I wanted to love this. It arrived
I wanted to love this. It arrived, and the blades were sharp, the metal substantial, and the handle felt solid...until the first time I used it. Then the handle separated from the side. Did I say I wanted to love this? So, I pushed the rubber back in and finished making my pie, only a little disappointed. Heck, it worked. But then I used it again. This time the handle came out and would not stay back connected. Every press I had to re-insert and use it carefully. Now I was annoyed. BUT...I forgot to order a new pastry cutter and today I had to use it for a third time because of my own forgetfulness. Well, this time, BOTH sides of the handle came disconnected. It was no longer possible to use. I tossed it. So now I am once again shopping for a pastry cutter, and making certain I write a review so others don't have this difficulty.UPDATE: The company sent me a new pastry cutter and apologized, saying it was a bad batch. Sadly, after one use this pastry cutter is doing the exact same thing. Neither side *completely* came off, but I used it delicately as soon as I saw both sides separating. In my second photo, you can see the sides pulling away from the top handle.

Easy to use
I really liked how this dough blender worked. My previous one had tough wires versus the sturdy "blades" of this blender and it was always hard to use. My dough was sooooo easy to blend together with the SUMO blender. The sturdy blades really got into the mix and didn't get all clogged up like other brands do. Plus the design of these blades actually cuts into the mix versus just smushing it around. The grip on the handle was very comfortable. I had much more control over the pressure I used to mix the dough together due to the sturdy blades and grip. And my blueberry pie came out great!!When the dough blender arrived, the edges of the blade were a little rough, it had a few burrs on them, but I just cleaned them and buffed it a bit and then it was fine.

It broke on the first use (purple)
I was so excited to make biscuits with this pastry blender. It arrived. I washed it. Used it once...and it BROKE! I tried putting it back together but it kept separating while baking. I was blown!!! I emailed the company (5 days ago) and I haven't heard from anyone yet. It looks like others have had the same issues with it breaking....maybe it's the purple ones. I hope customer service responds soon.UPDATE: Sumo Kitchenwares replied to my initial email. They apologized and acknowledged they have "experienced an isolated problem with some of the dough blenders receiving a manufacturing defect." They also mentioned "quality assurance", however some may "slips though." I appreciate that they responded and quickly sent me a new product (same color), which I received yesterday...as well as a refund. I haven't had an opportunity to use the new pastry blender but I am glad that I have another one that prayerfully will not provide any problems/issues during the use. Thanks, Sumo!!!
