It works well!
This sharpener is easy to use, comfortable to hold, and sharpens pretty fast. It is work but great for it to be manual. The safety handle is a great addition to keep your hands and fingers safe. Great and sturdy build. I'd recommend and the price is right!

Works with various sizes
I have several knives that have gotten dull over the years. This sharpener is easy to use and small enough to stow out of the way. Once sharpened, the knives were sharp for a long while and cut through meat, bread, and cheeses with ease.

3 section knife sharpener
I purchased this to replace a 2 section knife sharpener.PROSThe arched hand hold. Very comfortable and holds the sharpener in a very stable position.I have used it several times and appears to sharpen the knives.CONSThe middle section is really rough. As I have used it, it's gotten a little smoother in the middle section, but it's so hard to pull I hope it is not hurting my knives.NEUTRALThere is a glove that comes with the sharpener - but - I'm not sure what for? The process of sharpening the knife is not really coming in contact in any way that would deem a glove necessary. I just threw it away. But.. I suppose if you're really crazy knife sharpener you might need a glove to protect yourself from yourself? It is basically black plastic. The last section (finishing the edge) appears to be a ceramic edge. The middle is some sort of metal and like I said is VERY stiff... difficult to pull through. The first one may be metal too - but is smooth to pull.I never hesitate to update my reviews should new info seem useful. I will continue to follow the middle section and update if that seems to be an issue or causes damage to any of my knives.

It's OK, not great
Works but overall I wish I had chosen something different. First off, the 1, 2, & 3 slots aren't intuitive and you have to refer back to directions if it's been a while since you used. Taking a decent knife and just running in order 1, 2, then 3 will leave you a poor knife. You do 1, then 3, or you do 2, 1, then 3 if it's in bad shape. Or i could have that mixed up going from memory. But simplest would be just go 1, 2, then 3 and the description for slot 1 makes no sense saying it's for daily maintenance, but if you already have a pretty decent edge, you'd want the finer ceramic of #3??? Anyway, which slots to use when is a pain to sort out.Beyond that, I have an expensive set of Cangshan knives. These were literally razor sharp when new. And i mean literally - shave hair off your arms as well as a razor blade. I baby these knives, hand wash, never let them bang around in sink with other utensils, only use on wood cutting board, don't open amazon boxes with them, etc. But just from general use they were starting to dull. While this does sharpen them some, it won't get them back to shave hair or slice a sheet of paper all the way. So for like a basic set of $50 knives, yeah, you'll like this because you don't have that reference of what a really sharp kitchen knife is and how nice it is using in that razor-sharp state.I really didn't expect it would get these back to razor sharp, but had hopes it would. But it doesn't get my good kitchen knives to where I want them so am breaking out the Lansky diamonds & honing oil spending lots of time there. It does do well for stuff I only want reasonably sharp like pocket knives or generic kitchen knives that get abused.

Does the job
I rely on reviews, so wanted to leave one for this sharpener. I am very happy with the purchase. I have a sharpening stone and found it very awkward to do. The sharpening rod that came with my knife set does not sharpen very well. This one is easy to use and works really well. You might have to draw your knife through 10 or more times, depending on how dull the blade was to begin with. Not sure if an electric sharpener would be faster, but it costs a lot more and takes more room..

Does a great job.
I bought this to sharpen my kitchen knives. My old sharpener gave out and I chose this product. Very simple to use. Seems to be very good quality. Sharpens old dull knives very quickly. I would recommend this product.

Best of all the rest, easy to use
This is the mother of all knife sharpeners, the last one with a suction facility lasted 9 months then fell apart.I paid more this time and have just tried it - excellent results, best I could have hoped for.Thoroughly recommend this product, some may say more expensive than other options however if you want a quality item buy one.
