After such a while having purchased this book, i've now gotten round to actually reading it!! What kept me so long? This book is so important to those who believe follow the Bible. For those who love to find out more about the historical aspects of the Bible, and for researchers, this book is the perfect tool. Being one who likes to visualise what i read, an added bonus are the illustrations for consolidation. Ever wondered exactly who you were reading about when you read the word 'Herod' or 'Antipater' in the Bible? If yes, the book also includes a double page giving a tree of the Herods of Judea as well as detailed information to help us understand the people of the Bible.

Very comprehensive and complete.Not many pictures but then it doesn't matter. It's a lot, a lot. Good for those who enjoy deep study.

Not read it yet but used only as a quick reference book so far. So this is more of a review on the quality of the book. Very well made, the binding looks good and the paper is decent and strong. Font is big enough to read and clear. Worth having as part of your biblical study resources. Although not scripture it is a good reference book for serious studying.

Oh, if only all publishers of reprints and classic texts could come up to this quality standard!!!Everything about this volume speaks of reliability in its scholarship and publication.I'm looking into Kregel's catalog for future purchases.

It is an excellent text on the history of the world in the times of old.
