Crank up the sound
I've loved this movie since it was released in theaters in 1996 but watching it on 4K is like a whole new experience! With the Dolby Vision the colors look phenomenol and the Dolby Atmos sound absolutely surrounds you in the storm. This is the new definitive way to enjoy this movie!

One of the all time great movies!
I love this movie and purchased this to add to my digital collection, yes the digital code works! I own several copies but this was a great addition!

No dates
Ready to ROCK, let the walls thunder, let the ceiling move, let the floors roll. Excellently remastered for 4K and Dolby Vision. This is best for a date and a glass of wine. Guaranteed you will never see her again. It’s visceral attitude puts you back way back in your seat. It’s furiously raging. Mother Nature has an attitude in this one. Have it for your collection but don’t play it with a date. Good Luck….

Beautiful 4k
One of my all time faves finally made it to 4k! It’s absolutely beautiful and totally worth the upgrade. If you’re on the fence, go for it.

Worthy of a Triple Dip
Everyone knows about the mediocre Blu ray transfer from the early days of the format. When the German Turbine media Blu Ray release w/Atmos came out, I quickly snatched it up. It was a definite step up in audio and video from the original US release.I ruminated about whether this US 4K would be enough of a value increase to warrant a triple dip. I finally did a pre-order and took the plunge. I would say a triple dip was worth it. The new Atmos track was an improvement from 4 stars to 5 stars. The picture - although comparing apples to oranges - was a step up in quality as well. The turbine media picture quality was as good as Blu Ray 1080p could get with no visible DNR or other AI trickery. The new US 4K was as good as could be expected - considering the film stock and film equipment used. Several scenes wowed (sunsets, etc). The added green color shift of tornado skies also gave me pause, but when I viewed the disc, it was still plausible and realistic (coming from a Midwesterner like myself)Highly recommended PQ A- / AQ A+

Much Better
While the movie itself, obviously, has not changed or improved, this version is much better than the standard Blu-ray. The picture quality alone is a vast improvement with crisper, brighter colors and richer blacks. Since I am only using a sound bar with simulated surround, I cannot comment definitively about the audio other than to say the dialog seemed much more intelligible and the action sequences were not "overpowering", as is the case with many Blu-rays and, in particular, DVDs.The other thing I really like, as opposed to the Blu-ray, is the fact that, even though this was still put out by WB, it has proper menus that it loads to automatically rather than jumping straight into the movie. I like this, personally, because I am usually NOT ready to start watching whatever show or movie I have just inserted, and having the disc programmed to go to a Main Menu first and waiting for me to "tell" it what to do is a major boon!Overall I highly recommend picking up a copy of this version, if you have the equipment to play it on, and viewing it anew for yourselves. The reason for the 4 star rating is simple, I never give 5 stars unless something, somehow, "overwhelmingly" impresses me. Thus, 5 stars are reserved for that "awesomeness" that gets my blood pumping in a good way.

Good tornado pictures.
Great film, much better than second film. Having lived in Kansas for 10 years, I found the sirens, etc. very believable.
