Buy This Bench; None Better for the Price
Amazing quality; well-packed / rock solid. It's challenging to find a high-quality workbench online that doesn't cost three times the price of a 'Seville Classics HD Workbench.' I have been buying, ordering and putting together tools and equipment for more than 30 years. Unlike most, this was packed well; everything was labeled. The setup instructions were clear, and what amazed me over and over was the high quality materials and attention to details. This bench comes with 'extras' others would charge for (light [with bulb]), easily attached power strip, non guesswork instructions,) but the maker/seller priced it right and gives you everything you need for a job well done--no running to the hardware store for this or that--all you will probably want to add is a decent vise that suits the work you plan to do. I recommend this bench, and if other products in the 'Seville HD' line are as well designed and manufactured, a person could set up an entire garage with bench and storage gear from a single manufacturer. Pros: 1) Use of welded, threaded inserts throughout--High quality materials--durable finish; extremely well packed (box arrives looking worn due to the weight inside and shipping cross-country, but it's double boxed; interior compartments are Styrofoam reinforced.) 2) Any painted surface is wrapped in plastic to help ensure defect-free delivery 3) Every screw or bolt went in right the first time; bags of 'extra' screws/nuts/bolts just in case 4) Clear instructions and accurate drawings; have a magnifier handy for drawings 5) Solidly built / lots of thought evident in packaging and labeling of all parts 6) Hardwood top alone (compared to other benches) is worth the price 7) Lots of helpful directional labels showing 'top' / 'front' / 'back' / 'left' / 'right' on components where such positioning guidance is needed; makes fool-proof assembly easier 8) Drawers are held together with so many screws I have complete confidence in their load-bearing ability; 9) Drawer slides were a bit tricky to install -- but follow the manual's advice about loose-fitting the bracket retention mount screws until drawers are set Cons: 1) I didn't find this product two benches ago! 2) Two people are advisable for some assembly steps; I managed with 1 person, a small stepladder and a few Irwin one-handed clamps, but 2 on the job would have helped General tips: A. Read the instructions -- They're a bit wordy for experienced people, but thorough so novices will get it right B. Carefully remove hardwood top from inside packaging (it's held as a box-in-a-box); it is packed with Styrofoam sheets that protect it, but had the disadvantage of ‘greasing the skids’ around 50 pounds of hardwood; it slides out very easily -- weight can carry it to the floor (and damage it) in half a second -- I luckily caught mine / no damage. C. Included screwdriver is adequate, but I found a small power driver set on a low torque / low speed moved the job along--use only if very familiar with your driver because it is easy to over-tighten screws. D. have a large work area to set this up -- finished piece sits counter high -- top is 2x4 feet and overall height (floor to top of pegboard,) is a bit over 5.5 feet tall; it takes 2x to 3x that much space to set it up without tripping over yourself Other than a handmade bench designed by a master craftsman, this is the best bench I have found for the money; it is a solid, well-made piece that is heavy enough to use for metal and wood working, maintenance, a reloading bench or other work that needs storage, counter space, and is substantial enough to hold a 4-6 inch vise. You can mount a woodworker’s vise on either end and there is enough space for a steel or cast iron mechanics bench vise depending on what else is going onto the work surface. This is easily three times the quality of anything you'll find at Harbor Freight and most DIY stores, yet it’s a third to half the price!....If you need a bench that will last for years and stand up to anything except deliberate abuse with a sledgehammer, this is the one!

This ain't advertized as a reloading bench but it makes a great one.
This is really well made; solid; and quite a bargain in price. Mine was missing a few screws; I did not called the company to get replacements. The drawer is fantastic with ball bearing races but you cannot install the drawer if you are going to mount a vise or a reloading press on the bench. The bench is real wood; I don't know what its called; made out of strips of real wood glued together; solid as a rock; I drilled 3/8" holes thru mine to bolt on a "rockchucker" reloading press. I made careful measurements of the pre drilled holes for installing the drawer and plan to use the drawer under another work bench. It is a beautiful drawer, eh? I would suggest to Seville that they make the drawer 1/2 size and provide 2 sets of pre drilled holes so we could mount the drawer on either side leaving room to mount a vise or reloading press. It took me all day to assemble it minus the drawer; I started with the bench up side down on a table; I did need help once I had the legs on it to set it on the floor and to move it into position when completed. (I am an 80 year old over weight disabled veteran, eh?) I normally don't consult instructions but you will find it help full to follow them on this bench. I used an electric screw driver; I tested the provided wrench and it will work; it also works great to level the bench; a full size open end wrench won't fit in there to do that. Over all I am very happy with my bench and recommend it as a reloading bench if you realize you must leave off the drawer for that.

This thing is a tank
First of all...if you found it did not go together well please read the instructions. I found them to be very well written, the illustrations were good, and everything was clearly marked as to what goes where. The only issue I had was 1 missing bolt, but I had a spare lying around so I was fine. The construction is extremely solid. All the parts appear to be electrostatic painted, and heavily coated/covered very well. The drawers are solid and have a perfect amount of resistance so they don't fly open jarring contents. The work area is extremely heavy duty. It is very stable as far as the legs are concerned. The back is a tiny bit wobbly but not bad. The thing that impressed me is the engineering. Thy thought through a lot of smaller details that make this a sturdy assembly and very useful shop addition. Everything fits perfectly and the top light, bottom power strip (both supplied) are nice touches. Everything in this kit is heavy duty and very well made. Once assembled I think the garage hobbyist will have a lifetime relationship going on. Cons....there were a couple but nothing that detracts terribly.... 1. The packing could be better. There were a couple of bent corners on pieces due to inadequate corner protection. Since this is a very heavy package it is bound to get dropped some in shipping. I can see serious damage if dropped a decent height (foot or more). The corners simply need more protection. 2. It takes 2 strong people to lift this around. They do tell you this on the box, so I guess this really isn't a valid grip but more of a warning. If you try to get this to the garage by yourself without a dolly or hand cart you will probably kick in gripe #1 (above). 3. The back could use one more brace in the middle. I think this would make it perfect, but cost might creep up (as it would with gripe #1). Overall this is an excellent product. Very well executed on the engineering and production. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a garage workbench. If I had a larger area to work in I would probably fill it with Seville Classics products. They to be top notch manufacturers. ...if only I could get paid for promotions or product enhancement ideas....SIGH.

Perfect Workbench
After looking at workbenchs in stores and on the internet for the last few weeks we chose this one and it was the perfect choice. Many of the workbenchs we looked at had pressed board tops that after a given amount of time usually start to break down and then you are stuck spending the extra money to replace the top, this work bench has a very thick/strong/durable/beautiful natural wood top that will take a lifetime (or two) to wear out. We are very please with the heavy-duty construction of the workbench and doubt that we could have found this same quality with any other brand. The directions and set-up were easy. The steel peg board is a great feature, along with the light which illuminates perfectly. Another feature that we love is that it has a powerstrip connected to it which makes projects faster and easier as you are not struggling to find an outlet or an extention cord for your equipment. The drawers are very well constructed with a smooth roller open that pulls out all of the way so you can see into the entire drawer. We are 100% pleased with this workbench and would very highly recommend it to anyone who is on the fence or debating what kind of workbench to get...you will not be disappointed!

Only 1 Drawer -Repeat- only ONE drawer
My first order was handled thru a different Third party seller. After that seller kept me hanging for nearly 1 month on an initial 7day delivery schedule, even though the bench was listed as "in stock". They notified me that they couldn't fulfill my order and that they were refunding my money. I complained bitterly with Amazon, and wrote a bad review - that Amazon would not publish. A similar bench (with a different third party seller) appeared on Amazon's website. I was discouraged with the process but I really wanted the bench, so I took a chance and ordered it and bench arrived 5 days later delivered by FedEx. Great service and wonderful bench. It took me about 1 1/2 hrs. to assemble. All the parts fit perfectly. The instructions were easy to follow (go slowly when assembling drawer). I recommend leaving the screws a little loose until finally assembled all parts because it makes alignment much easier. One thing, for me was that the grommet hole for light cord would have been better if it would have been on left top of bench instead of right top light cord was too short to reach my wall plug. (an extension cord corrected this). Also the power strip is predrilled to mount horizontal along the top of the bench, I would have preferred a vertical mount. The bench top is very nice and 1 1/2 thick. I was also able to mount a 4" bench vise on the end of my bench top. (be careful about this so that you clear the leg and drawer mounting brackets). I also placed a rubberized top on my bench top because the bench top coating is more like a wax that easily scratches. I secured the peghole back to my wall and bench is now very sturdy and does not rattle. The ONE drawer slides very easily and is quite adequate. the leveling floor pads are very easy to adjust for height and leveling. Great Bench!

Looks great, functions well
This is a really great workbench. I want to give it 5 stars, because it looks really good, the final build is very solid, and it's exactly what I needed, but there were a few issues. The first issue is that the top scratches VERY easily. It's a workbench, so I don't expect it to always look stellar. But, this thing is pretty soft. This is minor, but just something to note. The drawers also do not align well for me. Perhaps that is my fault, but they just don't vertically align. Again, this is nitpicky more than anything. The real issue is that the crossbar support that connects the two back legs on the bottom came damaged. I am not sure if it was damaged during shipping or if it left the factory, but the way it works is that on either end of the crossbar are two metal sleeves for the legs to slip into so that they actually go through the crossbar. One of the sleeves in mine was severely bent askew. It took me an hour to bend it back so that the leg would fit into it. Far from a perfect fit, but it did the job. This same sleeve also has a poor weld. It's enough to hold, but again, lacking in quality. So, mine may just be a fluke. The end product is still great, but the assembly was made unnecessarily difficult.

The best $280.99 (+tax) I ever spent!!!
I have read all of the five start reviews, as well as all of the others, and I'm sorry for any problems that some of those folks experienced, and I hope that they got them corrected with a minimum of difficulty. The t ruth is that I wanted to give my unit a "six," but the stars stop at five, dang it! First of all, this product arrived, via FedEx, approximately eight days quicker than they estimated that it would, and I took my two wheeler and wheeled the box back to the 10'X12' storage building, in my back yard. I am much luckier, than all the rest of the folks who reviewed this item, in that I had two electricians who were working at my house, at the time, and they actually volunteered to assemble it for me, bless their hearts! When they were finished, they wanted to know where I got it, and I told them, and even showed them on my computer. They are both definitely ordering one, because I did the whole ordering process on my computer, and set the shipping for each of their addresses. For a lazy old man, like myself, this arrangement worked out great! I shall now discuss the "pros" and "cons" of this product, except I have a very pleasant problem. There are no "cons." Now, I have read where there was a problem, with a drawer track, and some light shipping damage but, again, I was very lucky, in that I had no problems whatsoever with any defects, either, since my shipping box had almost no bad spots, or dings on it. Now, to the "pros." This thing is built like a tank! I guess I didn't read the description very thoroughly, before I ordered it, because I didn't expect the "peg board" to be made of metal! I just figured it would be some of that Masonite-based pegboard stuff, like you buy at Home Depot, etc. Look, I know I sound like an overly excited kid at Christmas, but this was very exciting to me, simply because when I first laid eyes on the finished product, I could not believe my eyes! There is a shelf, on top of the unit, and it is a sturdy metal construct, with the light attached underneath it, which more than fills the bill for lighting the work surface. The top is approximately 2" thick, and is solid maple, or some similar hardwood, maybe oak. The drawers are built to perform, you might say, because they have ball-bearing rails, which will enable you to easily open each one of them, if you happened to have put some really heavy items in them. The legs are, and I'm guessing here since I have no way of measuring, approximately 3"X3" and more than adequate for the job. If anything, this unit is overbuilt. It is perfect for what I want, though, since it will be in the aforementioned 10'X12' building and fits perfectly right up against the wall. I had the electricians install an outlet around 4 feet up the wall, where it will be sitting, so that the connections won't be visible. It has adjustable feet, so that you can level it, if need be, very easily. Folks, I wish I could think of something else good to say, about this little jewel, and I know there are more words out there somewhere, but I just can't think of them, at the moment. I'll just close with these three words, and I assure you that I mean them from the bottom of my old, curmudgeonly heart: BUY THIS WORKBENCH!!!

Terrific Product, Thoughtfully Designed, Easy to Assemble.
I love my new workbench. It comes delivered in a heavy box, so best to have the delivery guy bring into the garage or area where you're going to actually assemble. They advise having 2 people to assemble, but I did it myself at age 63. The key is laying out all the pieces first on the cardboard from the box or a blanket/towel (to avoid scratches) and to use leverage for the heaviest piece - the wood table top. The instructions are clear, and all the pieces are labeled as what part they are and the labels include arrows to indicate "top", and "front" or "back" which of course you need to pay attention to to avoid re-work, but the labels are exquisitely clear. The assembly really was a breeze and I did it myself in a "relaxed" 3.5 hours while listening to music in my garage. Everything fit and they give you the right amount of hardware with a separate package of extra screws and bolts. They give you a screwdriver and a wonderfully designed wrench for the bolts. It's hard to describe but one step requires using the wrench to tighten bolts on the supports for the pegboard and there's these really thoughtfully designed cutouts in the grooves of the supports so you can use the angled wrench in complete circles to make bolting this piece really easy. Just great engineering with the convenience of the customer in mind. I'm using this with a Trinity Tool Chest I got at Costco and the height of the table and chest match virtually perfectly. As you can tell I was really impressed with the thoughtfulness in design, ease in assembly, and the usability of this product. Highly recommended.
