Tough and waterproof rug - I bought a 5'6" for a 13.2 hand Arab/Welsh which fits her quite well although a little tight around the shoulders. However, the 6'3" version for our Irish cob needed major adjustment around the shoulders and we put elastic in the neck fastenings so it was more comfortable when she was grazing. The rest of the body of the rug was plenty big enough so a bigger size would not have helped. I think most rug designers use a plastic model thoroughbred with its head up to work out their sizes and forget that the majority of horses are chunkier and spend most of their time out in the field with their heads down !!

Bought in purple for my daughters horse and she loves it. She really loves the neck fastening which clips and then is covered up. Loves the colour and looks really smart on. Thinks it will keep her horse nice and warm in winter but obviously haven't experienced that yet. Just fits so hope our 5 year old doesn't grow any more and other 5'9's fit her perfectly so just possibly be aware of the size.

If you have a bigger horse buy a size up. I wouldn't say this rug is for cobs at all. Very narrow in the chest and I couldn't even get the neck done up. I've requested a refund but haven't had anyone get back to me.

I was a bit dubious ordering this as the price was so much lower than other heavy winter rugs but the reviews were good so I gave it a shot. I ordered a size bigger than normal and it fitted my Irish Sports horse perfectly. She has stayed dry in very heavy and constant rain, as well as lots of rolling in mud and cozy. Very impressed with this and let everyone else on my yard take a look incase they need to get one too.

This is a good rug - I would size up if in doubt, as the 6ft fitted our 15.1 hh horse perfectly, who can also wear 5'9. Good quality straps and buckles, which have all stayed intact to date. Agree that this is probably on the lighter end of heavyweight, but does the job if your horse/ pony has eg a blanket or hunter clip. Full clip may need a truer heavyweight.

Got this rug for my ID X youngster. Wanted something that she could grow into. Loved this rug the min it turned up. Great Product, keeps her really warm and fits really well around the chest/neck. All clips/straps are covered which helps with the mud. She stays out 24/7 so this rug has already been put to good use. Very waterproof and quick drying. Will be getting a bigger one when she needs it. Great colour.

I wasn't particularly happy with this rug as came up a little bit small on my middleweight thoroughbred. Looked at the trouble of sending it back due to postage costs so I kept it fir occasional use. Ok but not great in my opinion.
