I am a purist: my whisky doesn't need a darn thing. However, this little kits tries to prove me wrong, and I have to admit it took the whisky to another level. Would I use it on a Macallan or Dalmore, absolutely NOT. However, got a Bullet that needs some spicing up? This will do the trick.

Received this set through the Amazon Vine program and what honestly sold me was the decanter bottle that is included. I make what is called slivovitz (plum brandy) and what we typically infuse to give it some flavor is Mulberry Tree wood, how we typically do it is just drop some of the wood into an old liquor bottle and let it infuse over time. This can sometimes lead to little bits of branch ending up in your cup. This decanter bottle is the perfect solution to that. The strainer holes prevent any debris from whatever you're infusing enter the spirits. The bottle also has an awesome aesthetic and I also haven't really noticed any leaks out of it yet so its a winner in my book.I've only gotten to try a few of the different infusion flavors but they've all been pretty good and appear to be pretty fresh. Definitely enough to last a long time even if you're only going to stick with the flavors included. Would highly recommend this as a gift for any lover of spirits.The only major downside is just the size of the decanter. It would be great to have it be at least 1 L, 750mL is just way too small in my opinion especially if you're going to be roasting seeds or wood for the infusion, its not worth it almost to do it for that small of a batch.

Even get some whiskey or bourbon that just did not have the hoped-for barrel aging flavor you had hoped for? This infuser can help you fix that by adding a little more flavor, whether it be oak, cherry, pecan, or several other options.It is easy to use and I particularly like that the infuser does not let the wood chips into the existing whiskey liquid (while many others do). It is also something that you can do once to a bottle, which is a benefit as compared to the "smoking kits" that require you pull them out every time you want a nice pour.The only reason that I knocked off a star is that this is a "fix a problem" kit--if you buy whiskeys that you know you will like as they are, you will not need this, but it was still fun to experiment with.

I'm not too surprised from the price, but looking back at the product description and pictures... after receiving the product, it's pretty cheap glass and all plastic components. The ingredients and recipes seem nice and I do look forward to using them. Unfortunately the bottom of the infusior bottle does not seal properly and is off center when properly threaded. I will be seeking a refund but I think for the price and available options, if you get one that seals, it'sa good deal.

This gift set is really nice to give someone that enjoys whiskey and you want to mix it up a little. There are so many different flavors offered so it's really fun to see how they taste when they are infused. I would say the price is reasonable considering what is offered, including the nice decanter. This is an excellent gift, or just something fun for yourself!

I run a small Club and I started doing lemon drops and then with this infuser I did a mango drop shot I mixed a little spices in there. Let it sit for 3 days then when I went to use it the top of the cork broke. So now I have to use a pair of pliers to pull the cork out cuz the wooden part came away from the cork. Other than that it worked really good but now I have to find a new cork for this bottle very disappointed and aggravated. I definitely won't buy it again because of that reason.

I will start with a confession-I have not actually used this. It has been near 100 F daily in the humid South and I haven't been able to work up the enthusiasm to start a project of this type.The kit contains a bottle with a synthetic 'cork' stopper at the top and a screw on base. The base has an object much like a tea ball to hold the items you choose to flavor your alcohol with. The kit contains multiple flavoring items including multiple varieties of wood and herbals. The wood is in chip form and the herbals are both seeds and dried fruit. I believe the wood will need to charred and the seeds should benefit from being toasted, which is why the temperature here has discouraged me so far. The kit contains 3 neck tags and and a spare gasket for the bottom lid. When the flavorings included have been used the hardware should be good to keep using with your own flavorings. The kit does not include juniper berries, so if gin is your game you will need to furnish your own.

This Whiskey set comes with the infusion necessities of decanter, 8 flavors, wood chips, bottle hanger, and receipt book. A must have for the home bar! Great gift. Comes in a ready to gift box. The decanter is very classy, well made, and durable. Very nice set.
