Works great , it's essentially plug and play on any ladder you're installing. The brakes work great and the travel is smooth. Worth buying for the quality despite it being a bit pricey.

As a book lover with pets, I needed a way to safely access and store my books up high—this 4FT Rolling Library Sliding Ladder Hardware Kit was perfect. It doesn’t include the ladder itself, but the hardware is durable, looks smooth, and easy to install. The locking rollers keep everything fitting secure, and the track glides quietly. Excellent for creating a pet-proof home library setup. I appreciate the price point as I am having a custom ladder created and needed only the hardware.

Fairly straightforward assembly the wheels with brakes go on sides of ladder ( not included) either side of the bottom outside vertical ladder boards facing outward to roll sideways. The track rollers likewise mount to upper outside of vertical ladder 🪜 boards the roller will run above and below the rail- which is installed on stand- offs once the ladder is installed to the rail (slide it on) then the brakes/ stops can be installed on either end of the rail to prevent derailing if you pushed too far. Things like height, measurements, ladder building are all up to you and plenty of how-tos on this out there. Overall the rollers and bottom wheels are of good quality. I've always wanted one of these- nostalgia maybe.. I do feel this short rail is more for the look on quite narrow shelving - do concider size of ladder width vs how much space you would have left to roll it - it's just not very far you could just build wider permanent ladder 😉 and reach everything. Unless you just want to have a bunch of ladders , lol. It is functional Will hold ladder etc. Just the width and range of such a short rail is somewhat limited- be sure you concider the space you want to reach (width) and concider if this is the right kit for you. It seems like 4-5 ft wide area will be your maximum safe reaching width with this length of rail. The design is good & seeing the rail I think I Can make a longer one and use the rest of hardware. The description is correct so evaluate your space !
