Lumi Co. Inkodye Print Fabric with Light kit Red

Using lightly colored shirts/fabrics, this dye (purchased in Orange and Blue colors) works exactly as described in the simple directions. What isn't explained, and is obvious perhaps when you'll start applying the dye, is that the odors are strong, and ammonia-like. It'll wake you up. You'll also need to carefully mask all the areas that may fall outside of the negative mask.I know this sounds more complex to describe than it is... essentially, be careful about spreading the dye only under areas that will be exposed under your negative. If you happen to spread out farther than the edge of the negative (which can easily happen if you're using the supplied rubber roller, and not a brush) be sure to cover that area with cardboard, magazines, or something opaque. Otherwise, you'll see those areas darken outside of your design. I'm sure you'll prevent that from happening.Ok, just minutes in the sun, and you'll notice the color appearing. Colors are personal, but I find the blue to be pleasing... although I'd prefer a darker shade. After washing in the supplied detergent, I'm happy with the results. No odor after drying, and it looks permanent. Details were clear.Tips:1. Blue + Orange makes Brown/Sepia.2. You can save some money, and get immediate results by printing on transparency film. I had some around, and laser printed my pattern with success.3. Take some time to review their videos online... they'll help you avoid mistakes.4. "Heather gray" is the darkest fabric you'll want to use.

Cool idea, but doesn't work very well. This product only comesWith enough material for 4 shirts, AND you have to buy your ownTransparencies (sold separately for another $20). I thought this wouldBe a easier and cheaper alternative to screen printing, not the case.

The product is fun, albeit a little messy and not quite as crisp and clean as the box but still a fun item. I was disappointed in this "kit". A kit to me implies all that you may need, but this one doesn't include the transparency film which you have to have to complete the projects. Those are another $10 each negative ordered through them, or $20 for a blank pack from Amazon.

As another reviewer stated this is not a complete kit. Very misleading product information. You need to buy additional negatives to print on.

A little hard to use. But when you get it done right. It is a real piece of artwork. Have fun and try it.

It made a great gift for a person into doing tee shirts from photo work.
