Review: Great strings. Like Prims but way cheaper. - After experimenting with a few different string sets (Dominant, Helicore, Zyex, and Prim), I decided I like the steel core Prims best. When I went to buy Prims again (after a 15 year break from playing fiddle) I saw they were no longer the affordable strings they used to be, so when I looked for a similar alternative, I came across the Preludes. Not only are they really inexpensive, but they sound great, and last. I’ll probably only use these from here out

When I went to buy Prims again (after a 15 year break from playing fiddle) I saw they were no longer the affordable strings they used to be, so when I looked for a similar alternative, I came across the Preludes. Not only are they really inexpensive, but they sound great, and last. I’ll probably only use these from here out

These are great value strings which will automatically make your imported violin sound better. I bought a violin from China that was handmade. It is gorgeous, but the stock strings are terrible. I replaced them with these Prelude strings and the sound upgraded immediately. They also help hold the instrument in tune better than cheap, factory strings. They also tune up more easily than cheap strings and won't break as easily.
