I just finished installing new sprinkler system and had an old rain bird and orbit laying around. I wasn’t thrilled about using those controllers. After doing some research, I stumbled across this RainPoint controller. I already used the Wi-Fi hose controllers and was excited to know they made a sprinkler controller too. Hooking it up is straight forward, easy to follow instructions to connecting it to the Wi-Fi, and it even used the same app. I wish the app would let you create shortcuts to turn on some zones for a set amount of time like it does for the hose controllers. I have chickens and roosters that like to go by my window early in the morning on my days off and wake me up. Sometimes it’s good to just press the pre-programed shortcut on my phone to turn on the sprinklers for a moment to chase them off. However, on a positive note, creating a watering schedule and having it connect to the local weather is nice and convenient. So far I haven't had any connectivity issues. (knock on wood) Another great thing about controlling it though the app is that I can control it remotely. It’s nice having that option. I was out of town once and my neighbor’s field was on fire. Turning my sprinklers hose on remotely prevented the spread of the fire. Having the same ability with a sprinkler system is a huge relief epically since the Wi-Fi hoses controllers are being replaced. Overall, I think this is a great purchase, its easy to use, and I recommend it.

Very straight-forward controller. You do need the app, but nowadays, I am not sure that is a negative. Bought this to control the sprinklers while I am out of town, which is often. The app is very intuitive and it has been working like a charm.

It worked great for one season. Now it won't connect, and customer service is nonexistent.

I used multiple single timer on my old setup which is not really convenient. The setup was straightforward, and the app interface is user-friendly, which makes it easy to control watering schedules remotely. One feature I especially appreciate is its ability to adjust watering times based on real-time weather data, great for saving water during rainy days. I did experience a small issue with Wi-Fi connectivity during the initial setup, but once I got that sorted out, everything worked smoothly. It’s been a great tool for optimizing my garden care. This is a very affordable smart sprinkler controller. I was able to swap out my parent’s old controller with this one and we had zero issues. We are able to schedule the sprinklers to run in any way however many times a day that we choose and it’s also smart. It monitors the weather according to nearby weather data and you can even get a rain/freeze sensor for it that will prevent sprinklers from running when the temperature is too low, or when there is sufficient rain to water the lawn. It easily connected to our WiFi for remote configuration ability.

Great product installation process was a breeze just make sure to take a picture of your old zone connectors so you can keep them the same. Love that is wifi so that I can have full control of my system. Does not take up a lot of room small and compact. Plenty of zones. Love that they offer a 5 year extended warranty.

Installed my new Rainpoint 8 zone irrigation controller approx 4 weeks ago. I have been using a Rainpoint 4 port controller for the past 12 months, which has been excellent in controlling watering, but thought that it would be better to have more control considering how the weather changes in the UK. We have had some out of season hot weather over the last 4 weeks, and the controller has been extremely useful, by being able to increase water timing and flow when out at work. Especially for our tree ferns, which are in their growing season at the moment, on there own zone. As I am writing this review, we are expecting rain, so all zones now off. MikeR
