Snooker Basics: How to Play Snooker is a simple and easy-to-read book in which you’ll discover top tips and practical advice all about snooker including... The History of Snooker Benefiting from Snooker Lessons Rules of Snooker A Quick Look at Snooker Tables Choosing a Snooker Cue Snooker Techniques Learning Snooker: Three Basic Skills Why Stance is Important Holding Your Cue How to Break Controlling the Cue Ball Improving Your Cue Action Three Tips for Improving Your Game Practice Review: A complete fraud! - This so-called "how to do it" manual on the complex game of snooker is devoid of a single picture or illustration. It's an all copy narrative that was slapped together on a word processor. Completely insulting in its cynicism in thinking that any reader seeking knowledge would accept this drivel. I complained to desertcart and they returned my money. In the meantime, it caused unnecessary frustration and loss of valuable time. I hope that desertcart will remove it from their offerings because of its unworthiness. Review: No photos, No diagrams. Worthless! - I liked nothing about the book. It seems like a folder of usage words. No Photos, or Diagrams.

A complete fraud!

Satisfactory
I found the book a bit too basic for my requirements. Definitely good for a real beginner. Easy to read and understand.

snooker basics
THIS book is more of a pamphlet than an actual book. it was not at all helpful for the person I bought it for. He said to tell you that he learned absolutely nothing from this so-called book. Actual books must have information within the pages, in order for anyone to be able to learn from their contents. He said to tell you that it was a waste of money.

WASTE OF MONEY!!!
To summarize the contents, take lessons. No information on rules, scoring or fouls. ????

Not what expected.
More of a billiards basic then a snooker basics book.

worthless for beginners
If you don’t already know how to play snooker, you won’t understand most of what’s in this book. Not even a picture or drawing of a snooker table

slim...
the book is not bad at all. it is just that it is rather short and the essence is rather thin. to compress it a little bit more it tells me " to relax and stand properly". i had hoped to get more. on the other hand the book won't hurt ...

Funny
Bought this as a joke present and it went down really well! 😂 It got a good laugh and was actually quite a fun little gift idea. The book itself is decent quality and makes a quirky stocking filler or novelty present. Overall, a great light-hearted gift—perfect if you’re looking for something a bit different!

Few details of the actual game.
Just a general discussion of tables, ques, stance, and the need to practice. Barely any mention of strategy, and just the broadest outline of the game. I assumed there'd be at least a picture of the opening ball setup, but no, not even that.

Very poor effort
There are 102 pages in this book, 35 of them are completely blank, 14 have only the chapter headings on and another 6 are the introduction and contents pages at the start. The remaining 47 have text in a typeface so large that it should be reserved for baby books. It's like a school essay padded out to cover as much paper as possible. The small amount of text that is presented is banal and gives very little assistance to anyone trying to learn the game. The reason I bought this was because it was the only book claiming to teach how to play snooker that was available new. Since then I have purchased one secondhand from further down the list and that was much better and in decent condition. I recommend you to do the same.
